Oh my god these are hilarious.

Can anyone find that old overdubbed Yngwie lesson?

What?

I don't get it. I mean I understand it's a guitar solo by a famous player overdubbed by some guy playing crappily, I just don't think its funny. I guess you have to be a guitar player to appreciate it.

Hmmm. Maybe. But the guy who pointed it out to me isn't a guitar player.

From a guitarist's perspective, it does help that the crappy playing is synchronized well enough to look like it could actually be what the "shredder" is playing -- it's not just some bozo overdubbing random noise to the video, it's actually very carefully plotted out. Whoever did it has to be a pretty damn good guitarist in their own right, in order to pull off both the conception and the performance of the fake solos.

But then, all the ancillary stuff -- Slash's fake whistling, Ozzy's handclaps!... and the smatterings of crowd applause -- that shit is all just priceless. The Jake E. Lee one gets me rolling just thinking about it.

I did notice that, and it was amusing, but it didn't exactly make me fall off the chair with laughter.

I only watched the Eddie Van Halen one, got bored and then didnt bother with the others.

Fair enough.

You should at least check out the Jake E. Lee one (second on the list).
