80 minutes

I know it has been said before, but what is with the short headlining sets? This is getting pathetic.

Let the complaining begin.....

That is short...at least they played avantasia, that ALMOST makes up for loosing 20 minutes. Wait, when they played last time with hammerfall in the states, I think there set time was 70-75 minutes? now im getting mad.

Why is it bands who are in their 50s (like Rush) can play 3 hours, but a young band full of energy can play play 80 minutes??

Very very very short set, eek.

Second of all, in the tradition of Heaven and Hell, cut songs but leave a drum solo!? Felix Bonky is not that great of a drummer, and I'd rather hear the Piper Never Dies than him noodling around on his simplistic kit for a bunch of drooling retarded fans.

I have a theory on short setlists. Bands like Rush don't need support acts, but for a less well-known band like Edguy, they have 3-4 opening bands that all play 30-45 minutes, leaving only 1-2 hours for the headliner.

Rush is not a good band to compare to because they don't move around a whole lot on stage. Plus, they take intermission breaks.

Fuck this, short ass setlist with a bunch of shitty songs, what the hell!? Maybe I'll save some money the 29th.

Are you referring to fans of Edguy or fans of drum solos?

:hmm:

I'm a fan of Edguy. I'm also a fan of drum solos.

I'm just not a fan of Edguy drum solos ;)

No, he's being an ignorant, elitist, Neil peart fanboy.

Alright, my review will be up later today, and I got a different set list last night. One song was changed and they added a new one.

I've got to say something. I understand people are upset over the absence of a couple of songs (particularly Land of the Miracle or Out of Control, because they're great songs and staples.) But I don't appreciate when people bash bands for not including songs that they don't normally play. I understand that people want to hear The Piper Never Dies (its my favorite song of theirs) but it has never been a staple of their set. It was only ever a regular on the original Hellfire Club Tour and was played sporatically in Europe on the early Rocket Ride tour. But don't bash this tour's set just because it's not there because if you have logical reasoning at all, you wouldn't have expected it to be there in the first place. Same for a lot of other songs. They've never been a very creative band set list wise, nor are most bands, yet everyone loves to whine and complain because such and such doesn't play a creative set when in fact very few bands ever do.
And lastly, this set list is not quite as short as people make it out to be. Especially for them. The average headlining Edguy set has never been more than like 14 songs and a drum solo, so being that this tour is 12 + a solo, it's not that rediculous.

I'm being a music fan with the common sense to know that 9 times out of 10, an actual song is much better than a drum solo. I wouldn't even want a Maiden or Queensryche drum solo, much less one in a set as short as that.

I don't disagree with you. In fact I'd say 99% of the time a song is better than a drum solo. I just remember that you yourself said: "All drum solos that aren't played by Neil Peart suck" or something very similar.
But the comment was intended as a joke for the most part.

I said all drum solos that aren't played by Neil Peart or Danny Carey suck ;)

I know it would be futile to debate this statement, but I could add a few names to that list.

That being said, I agree that most of the time I would rather hear another song. Especially when the set time is so short. But even on the current Heaven And Hell tour where they played 2 hours, another song would have been better. Vinny did a pretty good solo, but I would have rather heard TV Crimes or Sins Of The Father.

Yeah, or Over and Over, Time Machine, or Wishing Well. There's so many good songs with Dio.
