Just got back from Halloween, and I must say, Zombie did a very good job. Another one to add to the list of great movies this year. 300, Grindhouse, Superbad, The Simpsons Movie, and now this one. I rarely go to the movies, once every year or two. But this year has been really good.

Anyone else agree? :D

I haven't seen this yet, and I have my doubts.

But 300 and Superbad were fucking killer.

Eh, I haven't been to many movies this year, but the ones I have seen (Aqua Teen movie, Ocean's 13, Simpsons, Bourne Supremacy) were all pretty awesome.

Superbad was awesome, but other than that I can't recall any really AWESOME movies this year...

Elizabeth: The Golden Age looks outstanding though.

300 sucked.
THANK YOU. Everytime one of my friends calls it the best movie ever I want to fucking kill them, and I'm the ONLY person I know who didn't at least like it.

And yeah Superbad and Bourne Supremacy were kickass, forgot what else I've seen this year. Ocean's 13 yeah that was killer too.

I've only seen about 4 movies this year.

The best of em was Hot Fuzz.

Harry Potter 4

You mean 5? I thought it was really weak. The only saving factor was Luna Lovegood

What's a pederast, Walter?

She's like 16, you damned pederasts.

Doesn't mean I can't say she's good looking. And all I really meant by her being the saving factor was that her character was awesome in the movie and was more fun to watch than whatever else was going on. I found Luna easier to like in the movie because she was just... the 'weird girl' I guess, whereas in the books, she has that going for her, but is also (along with her father) the allegorical faith/religion character. She takes everything on faith, without evidence, and The Quibbler is like a religious text. At least, that's what I read into it :dorky:

Protip: The movies lack the depth Rowling put into the books.

understatement of the century, I haven't seen a harry potter movie that wasn't utter shit (and I have seen them all)

Superbad and Knocked Up were amazing, 300 was cool on the big screen, but I can't see myself watching it again. I can't think of any others worth mentioning

Well, here's my 2007 movie roundup:

At the beginning of the year, I was only excited about two movies coming out this year: POTC: At World's End and Halloween. POTC was a disappointment (still good, just not what I would have liked to see in a trilogy closer), and Halloween knocked my expectations down. However, two movies I hadn't even really planned on seeing were awesome as well: The Simpsons Movie and Ratatouille.

Just come back from seeing Rob Zombie's Halloween. It only came out here on Friday.

What a let down. Rob's done absolutely nothing new with it at all after the first half an hour. I thought the early life of Michael was done very well, but after that it was just a by-the-book Halloween movie.

Great to see near enough the entire cast of Devil's Rejects turn up (and get killed) though.

You guys make no sense. I haven't enjoyed a single movie Rob Zombie's made.

I loved the other two. But this was a standard Halloween-by-numbers with half an hour of prequel stuck on the front and a cut screen reading "15 years later" joining the two.

He did absolutely NOTHING new with main part of the movie at all, undoing all the good work he'd done with Michael's childhood.

Rob was the one guy I thought was going bring some new ideas to the horror genre, which is seriously flagging at the moment, and he's failed.

I like the original synopsis of his childhood. He killed his fucking sister because hes fucking Michael Meyers.

I liked Rob's excellent use of some new laws of physics too. Like how someone the size of Tyler Mane can creep around a house creekier than Ozzy's hip without being heard. That's some special science right there.
