Yeah, he's the singer/guitarist for Baroness, but that's not what this thread's about. I'm talking about the album art he's been doing lately. I think he's quite possibly the most original metal cover artist of all time; his art is instantly recognizable and totally unique. Here's all the ones he's done that I've personally seen:

Thoughts? I say it stands at Baizley > Romano > Repka > Riggs.
Eh a bit too cartoonish for my tastes, but I can see why some people would like it.
Bout fucking time. He does all the other Baroness art too, he did a Municipal Waste t-shirt design, Kylesa shirt designs, the 2007 Sounds of the Underground logo design, artwork for the new Torche EP, and a bunch of other band shirts and shit. The dude is a master.

Not really my thing. But it's not bad by any means.

I don't think he's all that unique; he's just unique within the circle of metal album art. He does some really cool shit, but he reminds me of that kinda tattoo-hip style, I don't know what you'd call it, but my ex-girlfriend was into it, so that's why I've come in contact with it.

I dont hate the art, but I wouldnt put any of his work at the top of my favorite artists list.

Yeah. I mean, we're all very used to b&w photos and comic book zombies by now.

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is why 90% of shitty bands are allowed to exist. I'm just looking for something a little bit different, and I happen to really like Baizley's stuff. There's plenty of "different" cover art that sucks as well.
I don't like it cuz its "unique", I like it cuz its sick and readily identifiable as a John Baizley piece.

Yeah I think its my fave too. I got the Baroness shirt with the 'Red Album' cover on it today btw, in maroon  One of the few non-black shirts I have

I went to FYE looking for Darkest Hour--Deliver Us (because I liked Demon(s) ), but felt unsure whether I felt like dropping the bills for it. Then I saw that this John Baizley guy did the cover art, and it increased by desire to get it...But i didnt.
