With school ending tomorrow, I gotta have something to keep myself busy :D Since I love doing reviews I decided I'm gonna start my reviews of all 2007 albums that I've amassed, going through chronologically by release date starting from the January and continuing on. My hope with these reviews is that they will either spark a new interest in a band for someone, or help you find a band of a particular style you've been looking for, just something like that because I know that's how I find out a lot of the stuff I listen to (through reviews). I'm not gonna make each one super long either and I'm gonna do it in a different format than how I used to, more general in paragraph commentary rather than dissecting each song. I'll start with the reviews tomorrow. Be sure to post in the threads if you have any comments or questions or anything.

Cool stuff. Since we're sorta nearing the halfway point in 2007, it would be cool to have a sort-of "check-in" for people. When summer gets here, I might be willing to offer my take on these things as well ;) .

But the next two weeks are hell for me. :eyes:

Yeah I figured this would be a good time too since it is the halfway point.

Yeah, that one could surface in the next couple weeks since its one of the earlier releases of the year.

Thunder thief! ;) Nah I don't think I'll have time this summer to do anything like this. I'll probably issue a halfway ranking though.

I'd have to go back and look at what '07 albums I have already, but Pig Destroyer is definitely the best so far, and Clutch and Tegan & Sara are pretty close.

You best be reviewing the new Blood Freak, fool.

And I'll jump on the bandwagon:

1. Mayhem - Ordo Ad Chao
2. Neurosis - Given to the Rising
3. Rwake - Voices of Omens
4. Blood Freak - Multiplex Massacre
5. Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb
6. Swallow the Sun - Hope
7. Type O Negative - Dead Again
8. Moonsorrow - V: Hävittety
9. Therion - Gothic Kabbalah
10. Finntroll - Ur Jordens Djup

Hopefully I'll hear some more good ones, the bottom few didn't really impress me that much. And I listened to the new Rwake again last night, it's so goddamn good... it may jump a spot or two :D

No it's just that you shouldn't make a top 10 when you only have 10 albums :dorky:
