Normally I wouldn't post these stupid things, but occasionally you find one that feels kinda legit, so I decided to post it here. I think theres a lot of very different political stances on this board, and knowing where everyone stands in terms of this survey/quiz thingy could be pretty interesting. So give it a shot, its fairly easy but still asks a fair deal of questions.

I'll post my results first, I guess:

Economic Left/Right: -1.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.90

That puts me about a fair chunk to the right and a tiny bit more bottom than Nelson Mandela. :tongue:

Edit: I'm hoping this wont turn into ANOTHER shit-slinging thread, but it seems like a good idea because of the lengthy political discussions that have been happening on here lately.

No. The questions are very biased in favor of a collectivist worldview, some direct quotations of Marx. I also take issue with the absence of a middleground / neutral answer; some questions require that answer.

Surveys are an attempt at quantification. Of course, they will have margins of error. More to the point, this survey is only slightly better than this:

"Is it right that Bouville still beats his wife?" Strong Agree / Agree / Disagree / Strong Disagree.

Bouville isn't married. The question is bogus. Every pollster knows how to phrase questions to generate specific biases in answers... I view this survey no differently like that.

One last point: their charts (with world leaders) are a bit silly. Thatcher is too high. Friedman isn't low enough. Olmert is closer to the center -- same with W -- than represented.

Bottomline: the survey is largely junk.

who cares?! This board is for metal, not politics. I find that politics are pretty much all that has been discussed on this board lately . . . and I think that needs to stop. There are other times and other places for that. I know I have been in the thick of it as much as anyone else, but usually this was because i was prompted by someone else's post. Lets keep it down for awhile shall we?

Neither politics nor religion run rampant on metalsetlists, mostly by community choice. Neither is strictly prohibited by The Law either. As long as discussions stay civil and do not harm the general community, we generally won't close down a thread. If you personally are tired of politics, I suggust you not read a thread entitled "Political Orientation", avoid threads that do, or create a new discussiont that doesn't involve politics.

1. Funeral is the short introduction... sometimes I combine tracks in my itunes (i.e Ice Earth: Star Spangled Banner with Declaration Day)

I don't know about PC but on Mac iTunes.. there is a Join CD Tracks option under the Advanced option. You do that before the import.

I also use that feature with some grincore albums that an unreasonable number of little tracks. I just merge the whole album into an a single track. EX: 7000 Dying Rats' Fanning The Flames Of Fire has 99 tracks but in my itunes it's just one. I've also done it a few times with live albums, sometimes for reason of seamless transitions between songs (an old itunes problem that has since been fixed) and to limit the number of live tracks that make it into a shuffle / random playlist.
