For those keeping score, last night was the first time since 1997 that Queensryche played "Bridge" and the first time that Queensryche has ever played "Until There Was You" live (I say Queensryche, because Geoff has performed "Until There Was You" with his solo band before.)

Yep. It's a weird one to hear without Chris though, since he wrote it about his dad. But they did a good job with it. I was really shocked when they started playing it, I didn't think they'd ever play that song without Chris. I am quite pleased by the fact they played three Promised Land songs. Those were all new to me live.

Promised Land is probably my least fave Queensryche album of the ones I have unfortunately.

Thanks for the setlist...I would have shit myself to get that. I hope they keep it for the next tour, or at least most of it. When the Rain Comes! :horns:

Yeah, by the way... what a shitty venue. I never want to see that place again. However, it was very full.

You live near Ann Arbor, right?

Not a bad set list, but not a 7 hour drive set list. And I don't see three songs from Promised Land.

Damaged, Bridge, and Real World. Yes, I count Real World. It was not recorded during the Empire sessions. It didn't show up on an actual QR release until it was released as a b-side on a Promised Land single. I guess if you wanted to be picky, you could just leave it as it's own thing, but since it's from the Promised Land era and recordings, that's where I choose to stick it ;)

In Ann Arbor, yeah.

I've been to Mt. Pleasant to play blackjack, and my folks play poker there once in a while. I think usually the acts they get are more along the lines of REO Speedwagon or Eddie Money, so the idea of Queensryche playing there is fairly hilarious to me.

Cool, I went by there on the way up. I've never driven to that part of Michigan before.

Yeah. Well, the show was a make-up show for one they cancelled last year in Saginaw. I'm not sure why a make-up show ended up at the Casino instead of the original venue, honestly. I noticed signs saying Live is playing there in March though. I guess I don't think of them as being overly washed up ;)

The Last Action Hero soundtrack came out in early 1993, so I guess I always assumed Real World was held over from the Empire sessions or a new song that was written for the soundtrack. I don't know when the recording sessions for Promised Land were but it seems like they would not have been recording in early '93 when Promised Land wasn't released until October of 1994. This would be an interesting bit of trivia to find out at the next meet & greet.

Well, the only thing I know for sure is that it wasn't recorded during the Empire sessions.

As far as I know they're not planning on touring the U.S. this year. There's a short Japanese tour in June though.
