Well, I think I'm right on the former, that they play true heavy metal but with healthy doses of prog, but the latter was a dumb statement, because there's actually a shit ton of bands who play real metal.

However, they're really the future of metal because they have the weight to throw around; they have the tenure to really fly the flag in the years to come. Priest and Maiden didn't need help from Cirith Ungol or Angel Witch to get metal out there.

I've sent messages to Mouth of the Architect, When the Tigers Broke Free, and Reaper to organize an all-ages Troy or Tipp show. Just let me handle this, I think I'm gonna get it to go :D

For me, Red Sparowes is a better band, but the Giant Squid show has a better bill (obviously 4 bands vs. 2 automatically wins in most cases). I hope I can see both, but if I had to choose it would GS.

Yes, usually I try to remember set lists, but I have my note taking materials coming along tonight since it's the first QR show of 2007 and to my understanding it will be a "hits" set, so I should have a very accurate set list early tomorrow morning for you guys! I'm really excited for the show. I've seen Queensryche six times, and only once was a regular non-Mindcrime show type of set. As cool as the production for the Mindcrimes was, I'm really looking forward to just a normal set. Maybe I'll even get a tune or two I haven't heard them play yet ;)

The Trendkiller Tour finally announced the Columbus venue, the mighty AL ROSA VILLA, and Kataklysm were dropped from the bill....plus..there are 8 bands, for 7 dollars.....but when I saw Sepultura and Sworn Enemy there last time around, I was so tired after sitting through so many shit openners.....After all the wait, I was let down....

The bands playing are

Sworn Enemy, As Blood Runs Black, Too Pure to Die, Freya, Torchchamber, Buried By Angels, One Fine Morning, The Crimson Armada.

dammit all to hell.

Well I'm pretty pissed about not getting Kamelot, Epica + Visions Of Atlantis, or Finntroll, but here's my schedule so far...

02/23: Slayer

03/06: No Fear Tour ( Possibly )

10/04-05: ProgPower USA ( Possibly )

10/06: Sonata Arctica

11/15: Nightwish

Not as many shows as I'd like so far, but I'm hoping for a Rush show, I heard rumours Ensiferum may do a US tour, and I'm hoping Primal Fear will do a US tour because of ProgPower. But we'll see.

The bad parts. Plus the only true metal on that list are Cannibal Corpse and Heaven & Hell. Gojira maybe too. Down are not metal, they're stoner/hard rock, Clutch the same, The Casualties are punk, and the rest of those bands are false and suck.
