The Glamour Kills Tour this Saturday in New York w/ The Wonder Years, Polar Bear Club, Transit, The Story So Far, and Into It. Over It.

Seriously a great lineup and I can't believe I'm actually excited to see every band on a 5 band bill.

Yeah, I'm pissed I have to miss the Chicago date. It sold out, too, and they added a matinee show earlier in the day that's probably gonna sell out soon.

Post a review if you can!

My date also added a matinee show I wish I knew about that sooner since I could've seen Sleepmakeswaves right after, as it sold out.

I'll try to get the setlists.

No way I'll be able to catch Man Overboard tomorrow night, either, since I have a presentation to give for my night class.

And not only may I miss Converge in April because of having to fly home for Easter... I'm gonna have to fucking miss Alcest that weekend, too. Headlining. I don't see a way around this.

So I got a presale for cheap tickets to some teeny boy band that my little brother and sister like (age 15 & 13) and found out my mom bought three tickets and that I have to take them to it. Good things it not till the end of Aug.

Only plus of the show is that it'll put me on my moms nice list, but the show will be full of women around my age bringing their siblings.

I definitely get that you need to compromise sometimes and wanting to go to two shows during a vacation together might not be what the girl really wants and that's fair. But it seems like it'd be such a bummer to not be able to go to things you really enjoy just because your wife / girlfriend doesn't like it. I go to a decent amount of shows and my girlfriend doesn't mind it when I do because she respects that it's important to me. Like last year I went to Florida to see Maiden during the same weekend that Relay For Life (which she's the president of) was going on on campus. She was bummed I couldn't come but she understood how much I wanted to go. On the flip side, I'm not seeing Scorpions in July because I'm going to a wedding for her cousin the next day in another state.

Not saying your girlfriend doesn't respect your interests, hellawaits. Your situation just got me thinking about it. I know a lot of older guys who stopped going to shows because their wives wanted them to sit at home instead. Fuck that, find a more respectful and caring wife.

My wife is like your girlfriend. She is cool with me bouncing off to a show here and there when we're traveling, especially when we go to visit her family, who live in Northwest Indiana. I've seen Meshuggah / Cynic, Arch Enemy / Exodus, Giant Squid / Grayceon and Yakuza / The Atlas Moth / Batillus because of this. :fist:

She is also pretty understanding when it comes to me seeing shows at home or taking short road trips to see the bands I like. She hates most of the music I listen to when it comes to metal, but we've seen a fair number of bands in other genres over the years. She did go to see Metallica at an outdoor venue with me once, and she enjoyed the show quite a bit. I went to see them on tour with Gojira and Lame of God a couple of years ago, and she asked me if I had taken any good pictures of James. I think she has a crush on him. :D

Anyways, the moral of the story is if you're with somebody who lets you be you, count your blessings. :fist:

(Also, be willing to protect the gift you've been given by compromising once in a while. A chick flick here and there won't kill you. :D)

Yeah, but it's in North Carolina and I'm supposed to spend a few days at the beach with her family. Scorps are between DC and Baltimore the day before the wedding. Playing a show tomorrow night in a basement at like 10 PM (with Splatter Control). Should be fun, it's actually our first show. I'm looking forward to it!

Also, I do believe I'll be going to Iced Earth on Saturday for sure. And only in Chicago are people actually more excited to see Warbringer than Iced Earth... :wallbang:

Savage Messiah next up, on Tuesday. Honestly, I'm far less interested in them than I used to be. First two albums were shit-hot thrash. New album is much weaker, with a new singer who isn't nearly aggressive enough.

The winners have been hand-picked long before the numbers are announced. The numbers are just to make sheeple believe they have a chance at becoming rich. Just another trick of Big Brother Zion. These lotteries (all connected, if you catch my drift) likely pay all the money to politicians.

The lottery is just another tool for the government to tax people like you guys. Wake up.

Winning would definitely have been awesome though.

I'm having trouble deciding between Touche Amore/Defeater and Black Dahlia Murder/Nile on April 19th. Touche Amore is only 15 minutes from my house, the tickets will only cost me $15, and several friends will be there. On the downside the band I will be going to see would only play a 30 minute set. For BDM/Nile the tickets would cost around $30, I would need to take the train, and I would probably only be going with 1 person. But it would probably be a better show overall.

Hard one. For me I'd probably pick TA since I've seen Nile and BDM before. I don't care much for Defeater, though.

For me I wanna see Nile badly but they should have a new album soon which would spark a headlining tour that would probably be much better. I'm interested in seeing BDM live but I never really got into them on CD and I doubt I would enjoy them following Nile if I'm not a fan.

On the other hand I've been obsessed with Touche Amore plus Code Orange Kids and Birds In Row are supporting which is perfect. Defeater may be a weird live experience but I'm somewhat of a fan and wanna see them eventually.

Less than an hour until I leave for Nile, and I'm fucking pumped.

I guess it slipped my mind that last night's show in Shittsburgh was the kick-off for Nile and Hour of Penance (TBDM doesn't get started until tomorrow, I think) - and so there were no set lists to be found for this tour yet. That means the pressure is on for tonight. Luckily for me, Nile announce a lot of their songs. I know quite a few, but I'm counting on the fact that I will be so wrapped up in the show that I may forget what's what without a little help from Dallas. Also, I'll bet (hope :snivel:) they pull out a few new ones, so hopefully they announce the titles of those.

No tour should ever be more than three bands. Two relevant co-headliners and a 30-minute opener, or a headliner, special guest, and opener.

Those are the perfect configurations. Everything else doesn't work.

Alcest, Vaura, and De Omega show was awesome. Found another great CT venue, Lillys Pad. It was this small lounge that barely holds 100 people, really intimate and the sound system was great, I was up front the whole show and had an awesome experience watching the performances.

I also talked to most of the members in every band. Mostly Kevin Hufnagel and Toby Driver (). Chill night.

Not sure if I can make it to Sepultura or Origin, but the next show I'm going to for sure is Autopsy.

Did you see how many openers are listed on that Sepultura show now? There are 3 openers before the 4 main bands on the tour. :hecho: I was going to skip that show and just catch the Death Angel headlining show in St. Louis, but the St. Louis show just got canceled. Now I am back on the fence with that Sepultura show. Hard to say how late that show might go.
