I might be a fill-in roadie tomorrow for Greenhouse Effect's drummer for their show up in Frisco, depending on if my parents are cool with it. Local stoner rock shit, you know the drill  :stoned:

Actually, both shows are in Illinois, and I am almost right in the middle. The Chicago show is actually about a half hour south of Chicago. The St. Louis show is actually across the river in Illinois. 2.5 hour drive to one show and 2 hour drive to the other.

A St. Louis Illinois?

Huh. I have my states confused.

East St. Louis is actually in Illinois. Kind of like Kansas City which is partly in Kansas and partly in Missouri. The Overkill show is actually in Sauget, IL but it is kind of a suburb of St. Louis so they say that this is the St. Louis date of the tour. The "Chicago" date is in Mokena, IL which is not even a suburb of Chicago. It is probably 40 minutes southwest of Chicago. But on the tour shirts, etc. it will list the dates as St. Louis and Chicago. Confusing, eh?

Edit: And nice sig by the way. CoS was pretty out of line last night.

That's kind of weird, because when bands play Covington, KY, which is just a dot on the map across the river from Cincinnati, the shirts still say Covington.

Oh man, Henry owned the house last night! That man really knows how to be entertaining and serious at the same time. He talked for two and half hours straight and crowd rewarded him with loud applause during the show and of course when he left the stage. Unfortunatley we didn't get "encore" or anything, but you can't always get what you want ... great experience it was! Jokes about Lemmy and Tyrannosaurus Rex attacking Finland were my favorite parts.

Next week it's all about heavy metal again. I am going to see the almighty Heaven And Hell with couple of other bands on the bill which include Sonata Arctica, Dark Tranquillity and Swallow The Sun. It's going to be so great! :rocker:

They are all hipster-post-rock bands, so they are supposed to be faux-epic. I dont pick the names, I just listen to the bands. I didnt even go to that show, BTW.

Romance of Young Tigers was chosen when one of the guys saw that name as a chapter title in a random book he picked up. WTTBF is from the Pink Floyd song.

My band is playing that night about 30 mins from where Ghoul are and way too far from the MD gig, we're probably gonna one of the first bands on around 7 or 8 so after we're finished I think we're gonna catch Ghoul

Ah cool, the NYC is one of the first shows on the tour... I actually think I'm not gonna look at the set before hand for this because they're my 3rd favorite band and I dont want to spoil it cause it really doesn't matter what they play, I'm familar with everything.

Made myself a list for convienance of keeping track, don't know for sure about any of these really but its what I've got my eye on as definite possibilities.

Ghoul/Funerot/Oskorei/Embrionic Devourment -- Gilman @ Berkeley -- September 15th 2007
High On Fire -- Amoeba Music @ San Francisco -- September 18th 2007
Hatchet/Scarecrow/Maleficus -- Macla Center @ San Jose -- September 22nd 2007
Down -- Warfield @ San Francisco -- September 28th 2007
Edguy/Into Eternity/Light This City -- Slims @ San Francisco -- September 29th 2007
Cage/Hatchet/Devastator/Fog of War/Ghoul/Svenhardz -- Macla Center @ San Jose -- October 12th 2007
Skitzo/Fog of War/Scarecrow/Witchaven/Zombie Holocaust -- Gilman @ Berkeley -- October 13th 2007
Hatchet/Styrchnine/Red Handed/Outrider -- Luckys Pizza @ Dublin -- October 20th 2007
Suffocation/Skinless/Immolation/Warbringer -- Slims @ San Francisco -- November 4th 2007
Clutch/Coheed & Cambria/The Fall of Troy -- Fillmore @ San Francisco -- November 9th 2007
Hatchet/Warkrime/Destructions End -- Gilman @ Berkeley -- November 23rd 2007
Van Halen -- HP Pavilion @ San Jose -- November 29th 2007
Amon Amarth/Decapitated/Himsa/Sonic Syndicate -- Slims @ San Francisco -- December 18th 2007
Exodus/Arsis/Goatwhore/Warbringer -- Slims @ San Francisco -- February 24th 2008
King Diamond/Kreator/Leaves Eyes/Cellador -- Fillmore @ San Francisco -- April 25h 2008

There's obviously gonna be a bunch of those I probably won't make and also many that I'm sure will come up in between. Bummer is 21+ shows and schoolnight shows means I'm gonna miss out on shit thats been announced like Therion at Slims, Finntroll at Slims, Wolves In The Throne Room/Ludicra/Graves At Sea at Slims, Nachtmystium/Saviours/Skeletonwitch/Saros at the DNA Lounge, Weedeater at the 12 Galaxies, Heathen at the Mabuhay Gardens, Jesu at the Great American Music Hall, back-to-back High On Fire shows at the Independent with Mono and Coliseum, and then like Enslaved are playing Slims the same night Hatchet is doing the Gilman show in November so actually I might have to choose between those, and even though its an easy choice The Dillinger Escape Plan/A Life Once Lost/Genghis Tron/Behold...The Arctopus are doin Bottom of the Hill the same night as that huge thrash show with Cage at the Macla. That Machine Head/Arch Enemy show is that same night too coincidentally, big night for shows in the Bay Area October 12th. Alabama Thunderpussy is supporting Obituary in Concord the same night as the Down show, I have a feeling Down might sell out pretty quick so I might still go check them out instead.

Anyways thats the concert story for now

and that True Metal America show with Attacker, Raven, Hallows Eve, Seventh Calling, Overdrive, and my band, Necromance on Oct. 12th at the Sterling Hotel in Allentown.

But next year looks like it will be taking its toll on me, particularly in the first half, as rumored/schedule for US tours sometime between January and June are:
