Smear campaign eh? So I assume your a big Napalm Lover. I saw Napalm Death last year in Hollywood at some tiny ass little venue called the Key Club in may of 2009. They where pretty fucking intense...there was about probably only 50 people at the show... I met and talked to Barney after the show and he signed me his autograph. Extremely chill and laid back dude for someone who screams with a voice that can only be described as a mutilation torcher chamber for kids

Suffocation is playing at a venue called Emo's? :lol:Emo's is named after a person, and has been around for a couple of decades - longer than the scene kids have been using the term "emo" as a term of derision. The rest of the world doesn't speak "scene" and name their venues thusly just because you young whippersnappers have your own dialect.

Did you get your tickets yet by any chance? I'm just wondering because I was planning on getting them at the door but the website says: NOTE: Tickets to this concert are being sold by an outside vendor. We do not have them at the Santos box office.

So I'm assuming that you would have to buy them online, which blows because that adds like 12 bucks on to the ticket.

Although LoG were pretty poor last time I saw them live, mostly because they relied too heavily on the last album, which isn't that great, and the latest 3IOB album isn't very good either. But I saw them supporting Exodus in Norway a couple of years back and they were great.

Dunno, I was lawn and paid like $25. For Berlin, the worst seat in the house is about $105, and for standing it would be closer to $150-175. Sorry, but nope. It's been a lot longer since I've seen Rush, so I'll see them in London, buy a good ticket, and still save a boatload.

Just got back from the show. Nope, sadly no Nailbomb songs. But I had a blast none the less. Even though I hate Soulfly and there style of music I had a really really great time at the concert. The band seemed to be having a great time, good vibes awesome energy. Sadly I was abit on the lazy side for Moshing(I Only moshed during Refuse/Resist and TROOPS OF DOOM:rocker:)....

andrew_metalhead was at the show aswell. I sware I see that guy at EVERY metal show I go to. I went up to him during tonights show. Had brief chat, introduced myself and told him who I was on these boards(He seemed to know immediately the moment I told him who I was)...didn't really wanna be a burden and take up his time, he was too busy taking pictures of the bands and I guess just doing his "metal assualt" shin digs for the site so I let him go off and do his thing, even though i ran into him a couple of times later that night.....I will most likely run into him again in January when I go see Sepultura(he told me he will be attending the shows aswell)

NOT the best concert I have been to...but hearing Troops of Doom will go down as one of the most epic moments in my concert life(if you even want to call it that)....nah it wasn't Sepultura but goddamn Max Cavaleras voice still has the power of a thousand armies stampeading into your villages ready to rape and kill any villagers that gets in its way......Also that guy was stoned out of his mind...Max could barley keep his eyes open the whole show...they where pretty much slammed SHUT

Eventhough this was a soulfly show, I found it very amusing that through out the entire night the projector screens kept Advertising the upcoming Sepultura show that will take place at the same venue this show was at..

It's actually no cheaper anyway.

Return flight to Berlin = £54
Return train = five times the price and three times the journey time.

Eurostar is only ever the cheaper option when travelling to Paris or Brussels. Every other major city it's cheaper to fly.

Those are the only places Eurostar goes to. Beyond there you're just using the regular local train networks, which aren't cheap.

Even the cheapest tickets on Eurostar, say for London to Paris, are £35 each way when booked about six months in advance.

Ooh, I like those. Considered one myself, actually. I still might invest at some point as an alternative, or when my super-zoom packs up.

Haha, yeah I do, but I'm no pro. I don't have anywhere near the quality kit for that. You can see my stuff here: http://www.jukeboxmetal.com/category/photos/

I use a Fuji FinePix S5700 for outdoor stuff, because light is no concern (until it gets dark, then I'm stuck) - I need to upgrade, to be honest. And a Canon EOS 1000D indoors. It's entry level, if I'm honest. The kit lens is useless. I bought a fixed focal length 50mm f1.8 lens for it and put a hood on it to try to cut out some of the erroneous light. It means no zoom, but it can crank open wider than all the zoom lenses under a £3000, which means I can cope with the low light.

You should be OK. For a super-zoom that Lumix has a pretty wide aperture at f2.8. You want to crank that wide open, all the way to f2.8. Do that, set yourself a fast shutter speed, and don't get too far away.

If you're too far away, even with your awesome zoom, the light won't be reaching your lens sufficiently and it'll be useless.

Make sure you know how to change your aperture (the f number) on the fly. If the band have a ton of light pointing into the crowd then you're going to suffer from flare and you'll need to increase the f number to let less light in and hope that works. I had that problem a lot with the Annihilator set.

Thanks man. I thought I was supposed to use a lower shutter speed for less light, though? Either way I'll try both speeds out. Also, if I need to adjust aperture on the fly, I'll need to be in Aperture Priority, which sucks because I think I'm supposed to be in Shutter Priority haha.

Yeah I'm gonna try to get as close as I can. I'll kep your advice in mind. :)

That's initially the most confusing thing about photography. Haha. Shutter speeds are measured in exposure time. So yes, the lower the number the faster the shutter, so the less light gets a chance to get in.

With aperture, the lower the number the more light it lets in.

Do you not have a fully manual mode where you can set both the aperture and shutter speed yourself?

If not you might want to crank the aperture all the way open to 2.8 and leave it. Just leave yourself with the shutter speed to play with. I agree if you can only play with one or the other on the fly then you'll be able to vary your results better if you only change the shutter speed and leave the aperture open.

Ah. That makes sense.

Yup, it has a manual exposure mode, but I'd rather use one of the Priority modes, as I'm not an exposure expert or anything. This way I let the camera do half of the work for me. For on the fly, though, I guess I could leave it in Manual exposure mode. That could work.

You'll have enough time, especially with the shitty local bands, to try all the combinations. Auto shutter and manual aperture, auto aperture and manual shutter, auto everything, manual everything. It'll take you a few goes to get used to what you need to do.

I'd say about half of them are either extremely grainy/low quality/too dark.

As for the other half... I've got a few that are REALLY good, some that are ver cool-looking, and some that have the potential to look epic if I lighen up the band member's face.

nice photos man! Yeah, I'd definitely like to improve in the future. However, it'll have to be for a band I'm not particularly excited to see, because when I took the photos, I honestly didn't focus that much on the music being played. I mean, I heard it, and I enjoyed it, but I wasn't listening to it. You know what I mean? Does that happen to you ever?

And yeah that's a great feeling. I've got maybe three to five photos that are clear standouts, and they're pretty good if I say so myself.

Sometimes, if I'm having to concentrate. It depends on how difficult it is to get good shots. But I only shoot for three songs, so it's no big deal. Them's the rules in the photopit.

Actually, I'd never listened to a note of their music before tonight. I know you dig black metal, but seriously? That was the most monotonous, tedious stuff I've seen all year from anyone. For ten minute songs, to manage just two riffs per song is pretty weak.

I saw Wormrot play in some cool little art gallery with a small bar ten feet away from the stage. I assume those rules don't apply in this case. Besides, this is Georgia

Yeah dude, they were probably paid in moonshine.

I recently learned that most 21+ venues are that way by law. If the bar and stage can't be kept in what the inspectors consider separate rooms, it has to be 21+ or they risk getting shut down.

Yeah, that's the truth. Here you need to have a kitchen, and even if you do it costs more money to keep it open.

So apparently, Diocletian and Blasphemophagher got lost, and Diocletian arrived after BW, so idk if you left but it sounds like they might have played. Blasphemophagher never showed up. I'd say, "Do a makeup show!" but I can't imagine they have any time, with plane tickets and all that.

Hmm. Two potential New Years shows.

Hammerlord w/ Wrath & Ruin, Troglodyte
Replay Lounge
Lawrence, KS
$2

New Year’s Bash w/ Mac Lethal, Coalesce (w/ Secret Special Guests), and more
Riot Room
Kansas City, MO
$10 - $15

Hmmmm. I'm really good friends with Hammerlord and Trog, and that show is only 2 bux and right down the street, but that venue sucks (soundwise and otherwise) for metal shows.

I love Mac Lethal and Coalesce, and I wonder who them special guests is gonna be, but it's out in KC and a lot more monies.

I doubt it, because I assume that they made Overkill all ages because of the lack of ticket sales, and considering DA has a smaller fanbase it would probably be a bad idea to make it 18+.

Yeah, I feel like they lost to the Heat, hung their heads, and convinced themselves they can't win. Totally psychological. Before that game, I would have put money on them making the playoffs in the 7 or 8 spot. Now they look like the surefire 1st pick in the 2011 draft. Oh well, I'm gonna root for Mo, Antawn, JJ, and Varejao, and in the process I'll get to see maybe the best point guard in the league in Deron Fucking Williams. Very excited for that.

And yeah, I don't get to as many Cleveland shows living in Bloomington, for obvious reasons, but I'm sure one will come along. After I graduate, Cleveland is one of my top few cities I'm looking for jobs in, so who knows, maybe I'll even live there before too long.

Submission Is For The Weak
Pandemonic Hyperblast

When Fire:

When Fire Rains Down From The Sky, Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown

Domine Non Es Dignus:

Do Not Speak

Eschaton:

Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes
(MAYBE) The Destroying Angel/Between Shit And Piss We Are Born/When The Lion Devours Both Dragon And Child (MAYBE)

Hell Is Empty...:
Soulifugae/Der Holle Rache Kocht In Meinem Herzen
The Final Absolution
(MAYBE)Screaming Of The Unborn(MAYBE)
(MAYBE)Shatter The Empyrean(MAYBE)

In The Constellation...:

In The Consteallation Of The Black Widow
More Of Fire Than Blood
Terror In The Mind Of God
(MAYBE)Blood Eagles Carved On The Backs Of Innocents(MAYBE)

 Maybe since it's a hometown headlining show, they'll pull out something insane like The Technogoat.

Oope just remember they played Donner Party and dedicated it to some Sacto friends in the audience. So there's that :D

Fuck it might've just been an older song, all I remember is the shout out and that is was more aggressive, hardcore-ish even.

Versus the Siren, Neonate, AmpullaeNot unless they got trumpet and keyboard players for the night and Jackie sang all of Aurielle's pretty vocal parts.

But yeah, I get it. You're not for sure on the setlist. I just had to make that observation. :D

I think "Versus" was the Aaron / Aurielle croonfest tune that'll probably never get played live again, but I suppose I could be wrong. Ya never know.

I'll bet dollars to donuts they played "Neonate" and "Ampullae", though. They did when I saw 'em last year.

I hear they've also been rippin' out "Sutter's Fort" from time to time. Any recollection of that one? It prolly woulda been an encore...
