That movie was so terrible. The story is fucking stupid. Toby Kebbell is the saving grace of that movie.

Yea the story is stupid at least the visuals were better than the first one.

Thor is pretty good but I wouldn't call it amazing. I really like the beginning and the end of the movie where Thor has his powers but the whole middle section is kinda silly.

Most of Thor just felt like an excuse to get shots of Chris Hemsworth looking attractive for women.

Ok, amazing was going a bit far
But comparing it to the low expectations I had, it was amazing :D

Watched Captain America last night. Pretty good, the ending seemed a bit rushed, could have built it up a bit more before he escaped and found himself in 2012. ...oops Spoiler Alert

Anyone catch the first episode of Brickleberry? I thought it was pretty awesome and will only get better.

The series premier of South Park however :(
I liked how they poked fun at the NFL though, that was good sarcastic humor.

Just watched The Avengers again on DVD with my six-year-old son. We still both agree that all of the best scenes involve the Hulk, such as when punches Thor for no reason, when he thrashes Loki like a ragdoll, and when he "revives" Tony Stark.

Plus, there are so many great one-liners like this gem:

Loki: "We have an army."

Tony Stark: "We have a Hulk."

Classic. :fist:

Death Grips' set was fucking terrible. A lot of people are saying they're regretting buying tickets to the upcoming tour because of how bad this set was but i'm gonna cut them some slack because Flatlander wasn't able to make it and Zach didn't have his whole drumkit. Since Flatlander wasn't present they just played over the full tracks with the vocals and everything. The backing track was much louder than MC Ride was and the whole set consisted of Ride struggling to keep up with the backing track while Zach wailed away on his in-audible drumkit. It was pretty embarrassing and just about everybody was disappointed. Here's the set for those interested:

Come Up and Get Me
Lil Boy
Get Got
Blackjack
Takyon (Death Yon)
Guillotine
No Love
The Fever (Aye Aye)

Spread Eagle Cross the Block

If they do the Michonne character like they did in the comic she will be the biggest badass ever on the show. She's pretty much unstoppable with that sword in her hands. She becomes the best addition to Rick's group to, that's if the show goes the same way as the comic, which they haven't always done so far.

This episode was very improtant because it establishes the Governor. Him and his men become the biggest foe to Rick and the group. A horde of zombies don't got shit on what the Governor can do.

Basically all that he said, the Governor basically changes the whole story around. It was my favorite episode of the season so far just because it added new characters and felt like the story was progressing. Hm, caught up on Homeland, amazing fucking show. Best show on Television tied with Breaking Bad. It's just that good.
Walking Dead has been really disappointing to me, It's just after reading the comics the show is so bad in comparison. It's okay by its on, but knowing it could be SO much better it bothers me.
Caught up on Doctor Who, the past 2 seasons have been eh, but that last episode was pretty damn depressing.

While the comic is better i've enjoyed the TV version of The Walking Dead to. For the most part I prefer the way the comic has told the story. There are a few things on the TV show I like better, Shane living longer and Lori dying sooner. Plus, the girl who plays Maggie has a great ass.

I've liked the first part of the current season of Doctor Who but the episodes in season five and six were very hit and miss with me. Of course you can't really miss when Karen Gillan is on the screen either:drool: It took me awhile to warm up to Matt Smith's potrayal of The Doctor. It looks like he's really gotten confortable with the role now. He did have some big shoes to fill though, not too many people out there would be able to follow the great performacne David Tennant gave as The Doctor. I think Matt has come along quite well though.

Can't wait for new Doctor Who again. Matt is stunning as the Doctor and this season is really delving into the darker side of the Doctor. Matt is also already signed on for a fourth season so he's outdone Tennant for length!

The new series was a return to mediocrity, nothing more. The previous season, perhaps two, were just crap. Too much retreading of previous storylines and going round in needless circles. This one at least wasn't boring.

Still remains nothing they've done with Doctor Who since Christopher Eccleston (a plotline of criminally unrealised potential) can touch the third season of Torchwood.

Wow I disagree. Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was one of the best things Doctor Who has ever done, never-mind being an expertly crafted love letter to Douglas Adams. I really enjoyed the previous two seasons, but the overlying story-arch needs to be closed out this season I think.

Christopher Eccleston is my favorite Doctor though, but him only wanting to do one season really limited that story.

I've not started Torchwood yet, plannning to over the Christmas holidays!

Yeah, that episode was kinda fun I suppose.

Is that not the point of The Doctor? A storyline isn't limited to an actor. They could have easily finished it properly, but didn't bother. The last season with Tennant and the first with Smith were awful. They were like watching Lost. All time-low points were the last two Christmas specials though. Fuck me those were shit.

It's been improving with each season since, but still is nowhere near where it was when it all went wrong. This most recent season has at least given me hope it might come good again though. If this one had been as bad as the last three, I think I would have abandoned the series altogether, regardless of how big the new girl's tits are.

And would someone please tell them to stop writing story arcs which build up to some catastrophic end-of-all-things/death-of-the-Doctor ending, then fucking announce the next series before it's done? Amateurs.

I've not started Torchwood yet, plannning to over the Christmas holidays!

First two seasons are pretty ordinary, third is godly, fourth tries to be the third and doesn't quite make it, but is still good.

I'm so disappointed that Karen Gillan is leaving the show. I liked her character, not to mention her ungodly attractiveness. I thought the fifth season was really hit or miss, but I thought the sixth was really strong, minus one or two episodes. The first four episodes of this current season have all been really entertaining. I haven't watched the fifth one yet, but I imagine another one with The Angels will be awesome.

"Stunning" is not quite the word I would use for Matt's potrayal of The Doctor. I use it for Christopher's and David's perfomances but certainly not Matt's. He does a good job but there's something missing in his performance that the other two had. I think there's a likability quality he's missing that the other two just oozed. I also don't think he has as good of a command of the role as the other two did. The one thing he has going for him is that this Doctor is more insane than the others. The Doctor always goes on long, confusing rambling's but the current Doctor seems to do it more and overall he's just more manic than ever before.

So, she's playing the same character, right? Well, I mean , kinda the same character. Obviously she's not gonna be a Dalek.

I hope it's the same character. I remember when I was watching the episode she was in I kept thinking she would make a very good companion. I'm guessing the Doctor goes back to before she got trapped in the Dalek or saves her from it and that's how they "meet".

Should we create an Official Doctor Who thread on here?:D

*shrug* I guess so? Can only assume he goes back in time and it's a past version of her. I heard he can do that ;)

DUDE! It's so awesome, on tier with Breaking Bad in amazing-ness. I'm the only one who watches it other than my one friend who suggested it to me. No one is interested or wants to, but the 2nd season is just amazing.

Also on Doctor Who, season 5 was pretty mediocre and season 6 was just bad other than a few episodes. The past 5 episodes were entertaining for sure, more than most episodes of season 6 and the angles one was great and heart wrenching. I like Smith a lot, but no where as much as Eccleston and Tennant.

I watch Homeland and am up to date with it and everything and it can be intense but there is one glaring problem I personally have with the show. The characters are all unlikable, everyone is just against each other and not once have I felt there has been a scene where I thought two characters have displayed great chemistry with one another. Also I really hate how the writers insist on throwing unnecessary love drama left and right.

I think you mean season 5 was the atrocity. I've never seen such a great show have such an awful go nowhere season before. If someone started watching the show from the begining today, they could skip over season five and they would not miss one single relevant thing to the overall Dexter story. The first season didn't have a great end to it. Carrie getting electro shock doesn't really interest me and was just a dumb way to end it. It would be fine if it ended some other episode but not the season. The progression of Brody's character and the role he's playing in everything is my main interest.

In the US it's very rare for a season to have only six episodes unless it's a new show on a major network that gets a small episode order to start out. Most cable drama's like Homeland get a minium of 12 episodes a season now.

Yeah, the first few episodes are OK because they're dealing with the aftermath of season four. After that it just goes downhill fast and is just a flat out embarassing season.

I though the same thing about Julia Styles to. When she came came on I thought, "what is she doing on this show? She can't act". At least not to the caliber that is needed for a show like Dexter.

Thankfully Season 7 redeemed the show.

Season five is still the worst. Compeletly uninteresting new female in Julia Styles and an even more uninteresting enemy that Dexter was trying to catch. We were given absolutely no reason whatsoever to care about Lumen or Dexter getting Jordan Chase. The whole plot to the season was... nothing and then the way the season ended? Tell me about not giving a shit and just saying "fuck you" to the fanbase. No progression was made and nothing in the overall story arch of the Dexter character was solved in any way.

Season six started off very good then it took a complete shit in the middle and then picked back up for the last few episodes. At least Travis Marshall was an interesting villian with some character depth and had a purpose. Plus, you just can't go wrong with the ending scene of the season. One of the best cliffhangers i've ever seen for a show.

Season 7 was awesome and the show got back the feeling the had in the first two seasons. I'm really looking forward to see how they decide to end the series next season.

I'm not sure exactly when it started but these mid season breaks are getting pretty damn rediculous. Now I understand if the holidays cut into the season why it might be off for a few weeks, that's always happened. But other than that, unless something huge happens and you have to delay the current episodes there's no reason they can't be aired without a break.

Yeah, because it's not like you guys over there aren't doing that with the cureent season of Doctor Who;)

We don't do it with Doctor Who. It's just filmed in 5-6 episodes batches. Always has been. The only breaks are between the seasonal ones like Christmas and Easter, and the remainder of the season.

You know what's really annoying? By the time most US stuff gets to free-to-air channels here, a year or more has passed since you screened yet. But we STILL put the mid-season break in - presumably as a condition of getting the license. How stupid is that?

Julie Styles has been referred to as "hot" precisely too many times in the 7th/8th episodes of Dexter 5...

Just finished season 5. It's really not as shit as you're all making out. The story is descent, and Johnny Lee Miller is awesome. The problem the whole way through is Julia Styles being completely shit in the Lumen role. Maybe the Lumen role is a problem too; hard to tell without someone decent playing it.

I'm on episode 7 and loving it! Kevin Spacey's southern accent is the best part, though :D

But seriously, very engrossing show, I just hate how his character constantly turns to the audience to speak. I've never liked it when shows do that...

After watching WALL-E for the millionth time with my two and a half year old today I asked him if he wanted to watch another movie with rocket ships and robots. So I sat him down and we watched the last forty five minutes of Return of the Jedi (the part of the original trilogy that has the most action going on, therefor has the best chance of keeping his attention). It seemed to have him really interested! Say what you want about that one being too cheesy and nothing but muppets but the Ewoks seemed to really get his attention. So if thats what i have to do to get my son to be a Star Wars fan so be it.

IT HAS BEGUN!

The main feeling I have from it so far is it's re-inforced my annoyance that biker gangs who are basically organised crime families like this, which I'm sure do exist, do the whole happy families thing all the time as well, and see no problem with promoting family life and looking after each other etc. when it's their own one minute, and shooting some random person in the head the next.

And honestly feel victimised by the law etc. when they're basically gangsters. Same deal as the regular organised crime families really, just with bikes

Agreed the first half of this season was great but it completely fell threw this half. The second to last episode of the season was one of the best but this season finale was weak. The problem overall with the show is the pacing, both this season and the second season have dragged out the main plots to the point where they have overstayed their welcome.

Amazing is a word I would never use to describe The Waling Dead. The show lacks substance. Sure it might be the coolest zombie thing going recently but that doesnt warrant it amazing. Second half of Season 3, after the break, goes back to being filler/no direction which seems to be the biggest problem with the show. And that season finale :hecho:

John The Drummer

The way I see the series...

Season 1 was an introduction. Introduce us to the characters, the overall story, let us get comfortable with what is giong on and what everyones motives are.

Season 2 was all about character development. I agree it was rather bland, but I feel it was just all about really showing who everyone was and watching them grow as a character.

Season 3 was where everything came together. You get to see how everyone has coped with all that has happened, and get to see where certain people stand.

Sure, it has had a lot of filler and plot holes, but I still think it is one of the best and most interesting shows that has been on in over many years. I really loved Season 3, I have been hooked on it, and I thought the season finale was great as well. It didn't leave as much open as the Season 2 finale did, but I am still hooked.

I've been watching this older horror film called Begotten (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Begotten) this weekend. It's available on youTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=455ohZRdbY8).

If you've heard of it, it is one of the most abstract, surreal, fucked up movies out there. The gore and subject matter is pretty intense but it's all pretty blurred but the video quality. And that's what I love most of this movie. It looks so fucking awesome. I can't imagine watching this on anything but a ratty old VHS cassette.

The lack of sound, dialogue and what little music there is is fucking awesome too.

It's fucking creepy though. I haven't been able to sit through the whole thing yet, mainly because I watch this kind of stuff later at night by myself in the basement.
