Watching the clip of Jon Stewart going apeshit on Trump for taking Sarah Palin to a chain (!!) pizza place in NYC and then eating the slice with a knife and fork. One of the funniest bits I've seen on TDS in a while.

I loved that. I don't know anything about New York pizza, but I thought it was hilarious. The Moment of Zen was great too: "I used the fork because I don't like to eat the crust."

Just seen a TV advert for the new Maiden compilation and it's made me realise just how long it is since I've listened to any Maiden at all. Over a year at least for everything except the newest album, and I only listened to that twice...

THHHHHIIIIIIISSSSSS

It's not really a "miniseries"- 10 episodes, hour long each is a good amount for a season. I'm a huge ASOIAF fan, and I gotta agree with you that they are some of the best, most faithful adaptations I've seen. And the stuff that wasn't in the books- scene with Tywin skinning the stag, Robert talking with Cersei, Varys and Littlefinger threatening each other, Tyrion, Bron and Shae playing drinking games, Littlefinger teaching his whores how to, uh, "work" correctly- are my favorite scenes!

YES! I loved how the show EXPANDED on some of the characters. The actors really brought them to life. I actually felt sorry for Viserys when he got crowned - in the books he was a two-dimensional shit, and while he was still a shit in the show, the way he screamed "Dany!" before it happened was almost heartbreaking. He was so pathetic, jfc.

And Joffrey's actor is SO GOOD. You hate him from the moment you see him without really knowing why, and then he reveals himself as the asshole he is and it's AWESOME. The few problems I had with the show either were really minor or resolved. Loooove.

Well no, it's not. But Canada has an open economy based on free enterprise. Individuals can own businesses, profits don't go to the state, etc. Thus, Canada's not socialist.

As for Congo, just because a country calls itself a "democratic republic" doesn't mean that's what it is. Vietnam, North Korea, and Iran go by similar names (and probably a handful of other African countries). A more accurate example of a democratic republic would be Turkey.

1.) Arrested Development is the best comedy that people never really appreciated. All star cast. The only thing is that you gotta watch it from the first episode on, or else you will get lost easy, or at least miss the best jokes.

2.) Until The Light Takes us makes me love and Hate Black Metal even more. I lost almost all respect for Hellhammer, but Immortal are the coolest fuckers in Black Metal now, haha.

3.) It was thing I watched on Netflix. It's cool for what it was, but it says right in the description that it wasn't going to be that good.

4.) I've only watched it when it was on vh1, and never saw the real version of it. This version is so much better.

Another Red Box Night last night:
Just Go With It - Started off horrendous but then got watchable an hour in.

Easy A - Was alright but dragged on and wasn't that interesting. I'm kind of getting sick of these narrator type movies. It's like all you have to do to become successful in story telling these days is have that.

Waiting For Superman - Documentary about failing schools in America. It's informative and makes you feel bad for the needy but doesn't really provide a solution to how we can fix all this, we just got to keep trying.

I do believe that Varg thought Euronymous had plans against him, but instead of "self-defense", he flat out murdered him first. interesting seeing his point of view, but he's still a guilty fucker and deserved the jail time.

Of course he deserved it, he was the one that plunged the knife into Euronymous' neck (I think it was the neck). But still, a little part of me feels some kind of sympathy for him (for some reason).

He said that Mayhem's guitarist was there, and he was a bit bewildered by the situation, so Varg didn't know whether he was going to join in with Euronymous and try to kill Varg, or what. He waited, and the guitarist ran off, and Varg finished Euronymous off.

It's been such a long time since I've seen a movie that I truly thought was laugh-out-loud funny. I watched Hot Tub Time Machine a couple of weeks ago; that was okay. I watched 40 min of Kick-Ass this morning; that was pretty unfunny. Then I watched Stripes. I thought that was pretty funny actually, but I didn't laugh out loud once.

Perhaps I have a problem... :eyes: Someone recommend me something on Instant streaming Netflix, or at the $1 Blockbuster Express kiosks at the grocery store.

The last thing I remember actually literally lol'ing to was the game Portal 2, some of the best dialogue I've heard in years. Funny movies, though? Good luck. I usually find TV shows funnier. And nothing is funnier to me than Spongebob fuckin' Squarepants; that show is always a riot. More so than family guy or south park or something. :allan:

I will say I think the makeup can go over the top and look hideous (take note: left side) but in a natural setting, she looks pretty cute. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei (or whatever) is awesome. It satires a lot of American media as well as a bunch of anime. And the main character is the teacher who hates everything and wants to kill himself. It's the only comedy anime I recommend to non-anime fans.

Nice, that was probably my biggest complaint with the first two seasons along with how they didn't test competing weapons using the same exact experiment most a lot of the time. Insidious was a huge rip off of Nightmare on Elm Street part 3. The only part I laughed at was the dad yelling at the old woman in the mirror.

And about the spiderman trailer, it sucked. Seeing that the movie is gonna include a re telling of how he became spiderman when we already saw that 10 years ago made me sick to my stomach. And the Mirror's Edge part was retarded.

Just finished it there, absolutely terrible ending for the film. Totally predictable and almost slapstick.

The new Spider-Man is a reboot, so of course it has to an origin story. Personally, I find the inclusion of Peters parents very promising, as they do have quite the part to play in the comics. Gwen Stacy being the love story is the biggest win though, as she was Peters first love, not Mary-Jane.

No, worse than a video game. Seriously, Mirror's Edge looked twice as good as that sequence did. It was just cringe-worthingly awful.

But my main problem is that it feels like just yesterday that they rebooted the series. Sure, it's been 10 years, but that's way too short of a timespan for them to make a reboot. What if they announced a Matrix reboot tomorrow? Lord of the Rings reboot? Hell, even a Harry Potter reboot? All those are comparable. It's just stupid. And they guy who plays Peter Parker just looks weird. Ugh.

...But Emma Stone is playing Gwen Stacy. :agree: Glad to see they actually followed the comic books there on Peter's first lover.

I remember watching the first couple episodes a while back, and I just kept waiting for the funny parts. But they never happened... I dunno, maybe my sense of humor just sucks.

I guess some types of humour just don't click with certain people. I never found Seinfeld funny. :eyes:

The humor isn't straight forward like it is in Family Guy. The show just entertains me. I remember when it was first aired back in the day and I followed it for the first few seasons.

Really enjoyable. Watch it with a couple of beers and you're set! Its a pretty inspirational story at its core, with some real comedy and drama. Always gets me in the mood to write music after I've watched it!

I honestly think its overrated. I mean, I don't think it's a bad movie, just not worthy of the praise it gets. It doesn't help that Anvil, in all seriousness, are a pretty mediocre band. I was cringing at the part where he was trying to shop the record to whatever record label it was.

That was kind of the point, for me. It's irrelevant that they're bad. They just have such a deep passion for the music and nothing gets them down. I dunno, I found it really inspirational.

Well, that's where I disagree. If they were actually a really good band, I might sympathize a bit more. Whatever, they had their 15 minutes with this movie, now back to obscurity where they fucking belong. Sorry Anvil fans, but I just can't dig them. I find their stuff mediocre at best. I'm not denying their apparent influence, but I can't buy into that shit. And they are one of the worst live acts I've ever seen. They didn't even deserve to share the same stage as AC/DC.

Loved it the first time; saw through a lot of what I was sold on initially when I rewatched it. I think the performances (especially Portman's) are brilliant, and I think Aronofsky/Libotique's cinematography is still among the best in the business, but the plotting and script weren't quite as tight as I remembered in the theater, to say the least.

Started Season 1 of the Tudors on Netflix. It's really entertaining to me, and not just for all the boobies. Very well done so far for Showtime standards.

And now I have access to HBO Go! So my question is which series should I start first?

>The Wire
>Curb Your Enthusiasm
>Rome
>Deadwood

Or are there any other good HBO shows I should check out? I don't really have much interest in the Sopranos, by the way.

It was so bad it's good that it's bad again. Just went too far and stopped being fun.

That's because it was also a homage to Troma films. With Troma films I usually think the concept is funny but they go incredibly overboard with the gore to the point where it's sickening to watch because it's just violence and nothing more, for the most part. With Hobo With a Shotgun you have a ridiculous concept and it was fun, but at the same time the violence is incredibly gruesome but memorable because I actually cared about the character and loved how they never showed any mercy.

Machete was mainly good due to one of the weirdest cast ever but honestly I could never enjoy that movie as much as I wanted to.

Watch CYE, Rome, Deadwood, and then The Wire. Always save the best for last. CYE is good if you liked Seinfield and like Larry David. Skip Carnavale it will just make you pissed. Have you seen Game of Thrones season 1 yet? Is Six Feet Under available? Is Band of Brothers available? Is Mr Show available? Is Entourage available? Is OZ available? Well, as long as you can stand the occasionally prison ass raping.
