My brother used to listen to Floyd, Zeppelin, Priest and Maiden...now he listens to My Chemical Romance, Gorillaz, AFI, and Panic! At the Disco. I disagree with his decisions, but at least they're his own.

You introduced me to Maiden and Dio and Helloween.....Do you really think your brother found those bands all by himself? Or do his friends listen to them too?

I'm sure if I raised my kids to listen to Janis Joplin and other hippy bands, and force fed them vegetarian shit sandwhichs, and made them pray to a tree, then they would eventually rebel, just because it is a normal part in a childs life.....Its inevitable.

Back on topic, I may be buying a new MP3 Player tonight.

Well, he found them via Fuse, but everyone has to find their music somewhere. My medium was a video game, for God's sake.

iPod. :horns:

I dunno dude, my dad always tried to get me into sports as a kid and I grew up to think sports is pretty retarted.

I just think that metal is a sort of, rebellious music, and if some kid is raised to think its normal he might rebell against it and become a hardcore Coldplay fan or something. And that would be totally fucked up :hecho:

And that is why you force your kid to listen to 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy, Paris Hilton, and whatever other crap is on MTV, so he'll eventually rebel against that!

Reverse Psychology is so very, very, sweet.:D

Haha..FUSE is where Caleb got all his Linkin Park and his emo shit from.

Yeah..I guess......Metal-Archives for me...best place to explore new bands :horns:

Well...If I am going conform to the new iPod fad (ironic because I thought Apple was supposed to be the counter-culture version of electronics), I need to know how much they are....Any help there?

Here's another thing, there would be alot less fans of that crap if the kids came home and their parents were dressed like that. A dad decked out in Sean Jean's + Mom decked out in punk gear = DEATH TO FALSE MUSIC!

Once Emos become parents, the emo movement will DIE!!!!!!

Then the metalcore hipsters......

THEN ONLY ONE WILL BE LEFT....

Yea that ruined it for me, I watched some clips on You Tube and the camera change every half second made it almost unwatchable. Good thing Manowar has plenty of DVDs I can spend my money on instead.

If it isnt out, then poor some bleach or iodine on it, throw a band-aid over it, pray your shots are up-to-date, and limp around....

Ya know whats weird? If someone were to ask me what my favorite Dio-Sabbath album is, without hesitaiton I'd say Heaven & Hell. But now that I think about it, The Mob Rules is way more consistent, I can basically listen to every single song without wanting to skip to the next one. Clearly on Heaven & Hell, "Wishing Well" and "Walk Away" are pretty weak songs, but I guess the other stuff is so great that it outweighs the overall consistency of The Mob Rules.

I'm not sure I can give a real honest answer. I tried listening to Funeral ages ago, and it bored me, but the hype around this one was so intense that I had to cave in. So, I'm not exactly the biggest fan who knows a whole lot about them, but I think it's a pretty solid album. "Keep the Car Running" in particular is fantastic.

- A small ceramic statue of Thor that I know is a replica of a bronze statue that was found in Iceland somewhere (picture (http://www.ragweedforge.com/s83-orig.jpg)), also looks wooden
- A t-shirt with an illustration of Odin (depicted in that Gandalf-type wizard way) sitting by a tree with his spear and his two ravens flying in the air. Under the illustration it simply says "ODIN" in letters that are supposed to look like runes.
- A small Norwegian flag
- A little ceramic viking troll guy for my metal chick friend
- A little statue of a she-viking for my friend who is Norwegian by descent

Low-budget doesn't mean bad. I seriously don't understand how you don't think the production on that album is evil as shit.

I didn't say it wasn't evil. I guess when it comes down to brass tacks I prefer the production style of Reign In Blood instead of Hell Awaits.

I prefer the production of The Adversary to the production of any Burzum.

I'm somewhat amazed to find that, so far, I like the KSE album better.

First Cinderella and now this? :eyes:

The Cinderella thing -- let's keep it in context -- that was like 20 years ago.

Also, note to board members: note how I'm accepting mockery of my music taste in good fun, and not as a serious personal affront.

Dude, I know. I don't even remember any of their songs any more. I remember the album had the word Night in it -- Night Songs, maybe? -- and the singer had an annoying as fuck screechy voice, and they stole their name from an advertisement in the back of a porn magazine, and the makeup and hairspray were ungodly: like Twisted Sister without the irony. And that is the current extent of my Cinderella knowledge.

:shudder: Yep, thank god I don't remember any of their songs.

We probably don't need to even bring up Vixen and White Lion. :eyes:

And did I mention -- NP: experimental death metal!

Do you think Twisted Sister was really wearing that makeup and those fishnets to look pretty?

Did you still work? You could have come, it was the easiest day in a long time.

And your dad is such a tool/slave/puppet, and you are his mechanic/master/puppeteer.

I went to work last night but that only made it worse. I would have come but I didn't have all my homework done and one study hall wasn't enough time to do it.

And yeah sometimes :eyes:
