What band comprised of members famous for other projects (previously or afterwards) would you say is the best?
The lineup for the first three Peter Gabriel albums takes the cake for me:
Peter Gabriel- vocals
Robert Fripp- guitar
Tony Levin- bass
Phil Collins- drums
ChildrenofSodom

Dragonlord is a pretty good lineup.

I'm pretty sure I don't listen to any supergroups, except I, so they kind of win by default I guess.

Well, my personal favorite is definately Masterplan...
Mike Dimeo - Vocals (Riot)
Roland Grapow - Guitars (Helloween)
Jan S. Eckert - Bass (Iron Savior)
Axel Mecknrott - Keyboards (Gamma Ray's live keyboardist)
Mike Terrana - Drums (Rage, Axel Rudi Pell)
ex members:
Jorn Lande - Vocals (solo, Ark, Millenium, more)
Uli Kusch - Drums (Helloween)
Personally, I feel they've done amazing amazing stuff thus far... two of the best melodic metal albums in recent years, and the 3rd album, due in March 07 holds even more promise.

LTE
Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe (Because it's pretty much just Yes + Tony Levin)
Some incarnations of Yes (Drama, 90125) were (arguably) supergroups.
Ayreon (Not really a supergroup, but awesome lineups of musicians each time)
Derek And The Dominoes

That would be biased. But on a more relevant topic I am finishing a paper about the annoyance of whinny arrogant teenagers from prehistoric times to the present... I thank you for being an inspiration on that subject
