After reading the thread about the venue that Pavo liked that closed down, I decided to make a thread about your favourite venue. Also this is my first thread in this section i think.

I'll start.
My favourite that i've been to is Barrowlands in Glasgow. It holds 1900 people and has a spring loaded floor. It's a great size and a lot of great bands have played there. Recently there have been a lot of shit bands playing there too:(
My Chemical Romance, The Zutons etc.
Bands i have seen there include Disturbed, Nevermore, In Flames, Sepultura.
It's a great venue for it's size, shape and ofcourse the crowd are right on the stage. It's so close to the stage for it's size. And ofcourse the stage is a reasonable size too!:rocker:

Probably Newport Music Hall in Columbus or Bogart's in Cincinnati. Similar venues, just small places with decent acoustics that book a lot of metal.

House of Blues... any of 'em. Yes, they are expensive, but I find that it's well worth the cost. It's a a great venue, and usually the staff is very nice. Plus we ALWAYS manage to be the first in line thanks to their pass-the-line program. We just get there and eat lunch usually  - plus they're about the only place you're going to get that close to the size of acts that usually play there (like Queensryche.)

Although the sound sucks down front, but who cares!? ;)

well as bouncy as you're going to get, better for jumping than anywhere else anyway, and it doesn't hurt as much when you fall either which is always great!

They should make a venue out of one of those inflatable bouncy funhouses. The mosh pit would be so much fun!

Madison Square Garden

The only bad thing about it is that going there is so much more of a hassle than staying in Jersey.

lets see. i'll categorize them:

Run down piece of shit hall for gigs: the black castle in L.A.

Club or theater: House of Blues in Hollywood. kinda loud up front though

amphitheater or pavilion: Irvine Meadows (i will not call it by it's sell out name)

stadium: L.A. Great Western Forum

Lupo's @ Providence, RI - which i don't go to as much as i'd like

Nokia Times Square NYC

the amphitheaters (i think that's what they qualify as) in Hartford, CT and Mansfield/Foxboro, MA are about tied. the one on MA is closer, so i guess that one wins.

and Nassau Colisseum where i first saw Priest is the close to my heart pick

well, i've only been there once. bb king's was nice, intimate.

i usually go to the Palladium, but if the band doesn't bring something for the vocals, you can barely hear him/her.

Station 4, St. Paul Minnesota.

It's small, it has black poles running down from the back top the back of the venue, but it is my absolutely favorite venue.

I saw and met almost all of my favorite bands here, I played here with my bands. and ticket prices are always, ALWAYS cheap. I've only been to one show where tickets were more then $30 bucks (Minnesota Metal Fest: Primal Fear, Atheist, Novembers Doom, Destroy Destroy Destroy, Gnostic and many others)
