I thought you said "No Love was your all time favourite Exodus song?" (which would imply that you have bonded by blood)

Oh. Get Bonded By Blood then.

For the record, I always thought Nine Inch Nails were a bunch of Nancy boys who fooled around in the studio too much to make up for the fact that they don't know how to rock.

At least you don't want to get into Sublime :hecho:

Alright, I'm not recomending you stuff by any of those bands, so here comes some recomendations, most of which I've already recommend at some point or another.

Angra - Rebirth
Mercenary - 11 Dreams
Dungeon - A Rise To Power
Evergrey - In Search of Truth, Recreation Day (probably all the albums you dont have)
Savatage - Handful of Rain
Circle II Circle - Watching In Silence
Nocturnal Rites - New World Messiah
Symphony X - V: The New Mythology
Kamelot - Epica and The Black Halo
Iced Earth - Something Wicked This Way Comes

Death- Sounds of Perseverance or Individual Thought Patterns
Morbid Angel- Altars of Madness
Immortal- Sons of Northern Darkness
Dead Kennedys- Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Exodus- Bonded By Blood
Nine Inch Nails- The Downward Spiral

If songs like "Wish" and "Heresy" don't prove that NIN knows how to rock, then I don't know what does.

First two albums are rather bad. Damnation Game is a bit better, because Russell Allen came into the band, but avoid both.

The Divine Wings of Tragedy rules. It was my first SX album, and it was very good. The title track is ownage, and Candlelight Fantasia is their best ballad.

Twilight in Olympus is much more straightforward than Divine Wings, due to a drummer change. It's still good, but look elsewhere for now.

V is their compulsory concept album dealing with mythology and stuff. I'm not a huge fan of the lyrics, but this is their most varied and progressive album. A lot of layering, and a 'soft' production gives the album a more regal air.

The Odyssey is my personal favourite. Much harder hitting than V, and together with Divine Wings contains some of SX's best songs, such as the title track, The Turning, Incantations of the Apprentice ad infinitum.

So in order, get:

The Odyssey
The Divine Wings of Tragedy
V
Twilight in Olympus

If you can find it cheap, get it.

There's some notable filler (Consequences just sucks, and Reaping Stone is really bad), but there's the WICKED trilogy, and Disciples of the Lie, My Own Saviour, and a powerful instrumental called 1776.

But Matt Barlow sounds like he's gonna cry on a few of the songs.

Exodus - Pleasures of the Flesh is my favorite, but Fabulous Disaster may be more representative

Easy there, chief. First of all, I own my own business, so I know how to treat my clients. Second, the owner of that particular client does not really want his employees to waste time listening to music when they should be working. He also does not want to pay me to "fix" problems with iTunes, games, IM, or other things that kill productivity. So when an employee asks me to fix those kinds of problems, I am actually obligated to not fix it. Third, she knows the situation and she knows she should not be asking me to fix it in the first place. So, there is the context surrounding the crappy music joke.

While this is true... Matt Barlow is still a technically better singer, with a better voice.
You know nothing about the greatness of Ripper. Comparing Barlow to Owens is like comparing chocolate dung to chocolate cake. It's like comparing a nincompoop with a nigga. It's like a fat, ugly person compared to me.

ARGH.

I liked him before he became a racist comic, and yes, there was a time when that he was.

yea. too bad the same can't be said for Dave Chappell tho, who was always a racist comic

BTW as far as Ripper vs Barlow, you are both forgetting the great Greeley. Even tho he's kinda plain sounding, he certainly helped set the dark tone of Stormrider to make it the epic that it is. Barlow's versions just don't have the same atmosphere.

I don't think that's true. Have you ever seen the "Charlie Murphy True Hollywood Stories of Prince" skit? That doesn't have any racism to it.

Wait...did you just say that Carlos Mencia is better than Dave Chappelle?

My head just exploded :hecho:

Yea, Greeley ruled. Incredible vocals on my favourite IE album.

Shame about him being a Nazi sympathizer and all...

Well I remember Mencia's first debut on comedy centrals stand up whatever, and that was good. But now his show is mostly a bunch of beaner jokes, in the same way Chapelle is just mostly "nigga" jokes.

yea that was too bad. some people argue that greeley lacked the emotion that barlow had, and thats what made him so good, especially for stormrider. he gave off a detached stoic tone that made the album feel much darker then when barlow re-did the songs for Days of Purgatory.

he had a good message; dont be afraid of stereotypes. But it got really tired really quick when he made the deedeedee jokes and the such.

"Black people and mexicans are lazy. Bush is a C average student. DEE DEE DEE."
