This past September, legendary prog shapeshifters King Crimson said they were planning to reunite, but that it wouldn't be an immediate thing. Well that reunion is finally officially happening. The band confirmed they'll play 3 NYC shows, September 18, 19 & 20 at Best Buy Theater. Tickets for those shows go on sale Friday (6/6) at noon.

The lineup for these shows will be main man Robert Fripp, along with Gavin Harrison, Bill Rieflin, Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto, Mel Collins, and Jakko Jakszy.

Stay tuned for a full tour announcement.

No Adrian Belew kinda ruins it for me, although I would totally hit this up if it comes my way.

He's been with them for a while. I remember him joining around the time I graduated High School in 07.

Yeah, but you've got to admit, that's one insane lineup with or without Belew.

Oh without question it is!

After seeing Crimson Projekt open for Dream Theater a few years ago I'd love to see King Crimson one day.

Contemplating a trip to Madison, it's only 3 and a half hours I think.

I don't normally pull a dcmetal108 and bitch about the price of every concert in existence, but GODDAMN. I didn't know KC had this kind of pull.

Boston: $48-$170
Manhattan: $60-$160
Madison: $69-$100
Los Angeles: $58-$169

My guess is that Minneapolis was booked in the venues they wanted.

Wow, those prices are kind of shocking. $100, maybe even $120 would have been expected, but $170???

This makes me happy... the prices do not but I will hope to make something work out with this.

Those prices really aren't that outrageous. KC hasn't played together as KC in a long time, and let's face it, this may be the last KC tour in the states.

Those who care about the early days of Prog really should go to this. I got plenty of friends who wanna go with me to Madison for the show, that makes me very happy.

I don't like the price, but I understand it. There are very few bands I'd pay three figures to see...but King Crimson with Fripp is one of them.

I paid $50 to see Marillion two summers ago, and I felt like that was a lot. Turned out to be one of, if not the, most perfect shows I ever saw. Regretted not a single penny.

So can I sit in a chair & watch them onstage? :allan:

By overwhelming demand, a 4th Manhattan show added for September 21st. First three are completely sold out.
