Heavy-metal trailblazers Judas Priest will headline Fun Fun Fun Fest this fall as their first announced date of an U.S. tour in support of their upcoming record, Redeemer of Souls. It's their first concert since they completed their Epitaph Tour, their final full-on world tour and also stands as the group's first performance in Austin in 25 years. The group will issue what frontman Rob Halford told Rolling Stone was a "very heavy record," their 17th, on July 15th.

Judas Priest's 'Screaming for Vengeance' and the 10 Best Metal Albums of the 1980s

Other headliners slated for the three-day Austin festival include Neutral Milk Hotel, Death Cab for Cutie, Nas (celebrating the 20th anniversary of Illmatic), Wiz Khalifa and metal shrieker King Diamond for his first announced U.S. date since 2005. The fest will take place from November 7th to November 9th at Auditorium Shores and Butler Park in Austin.

As with previous years, the rest of the festival boasts a typically diverse music lineup, spanning rock, R&B and dance. The Orange Stage will feature Yo La Tengo, Alt-J, The New Pornographers, Dinosaur Jr., First Aid Kit, Guided By Voices, City and Colour, Failure, Dum Dum Girls and Foxygen, among others.

The Blue Stage will exhibit Girl Talk, 2 Chainz, Atmosphere, Flying Lotus, Sky Ferreira, The Presets, Gary Numan, Cashmere Cat, Ginuwine, Z-Trip, Run The Jewels (El-P/Killer Mike) and more.

The Black Stage will showcase Death From Above 1979, Rocket From The Crypt, Death Grips, Gorilla Biscuits, Black Lips, Hot Water Music, Iceage, Sick of It All, Deafheaven and Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, among others.

The fest still has yet to announce the lineup for its comedy stage, to come out July 1st, and its actions sports component, which includes skate and ride athletes and an "Aqua Olympics," to be announced in August.

Three-day passes go on sale at 10 a.m. CST on May 20th. Visit the festival's website for tickets and more info.

I'd assume so, but then again he lives in the area doesn't he?

Yeah, that's the only reason I'm not assuming this means a full tour.

The flyer says Sick of It All are playing a Blood Sweat No Tears-through-Scratch the Surface-era set. That gets my attention.

I read an interview a few months ago with King Diamond and he said later this year he planned on touring North America. He said something about doing it in October because he wanted the tour to have a Halloween feel to it. Maybe he will tour here after all? Can't remember where the hell I read it though.

Absolutely stacked lineup. Would go to see Nas, KD, Chelsea Wolfe, and Angel Olsen all on the same day.

I hope that's true, I would love to see King Diamond. Always heard his shows were awesome, but can he still sing like he did in the '80s? Time takes its toll on singers before anyone else.

He certainly can't sing as high anymore but he still sounds pretty good:

This was just from some festival he did last summer. A full tour now might take more of a toll on his voice.

^ that tour was the one time I saw KD. It's also one of the few times I've seen a double-encore. Show was mindblowingly awesome.

Anyways, how can something called "Fun Fun Fun" fest not have Rebecca Black on it!!!

They wanted her to play, but she didn't make it to the conference in time because she couldn't decide which seat to sit in...

Why is no one else talking about Girl Talk!

Move to Pittsburgh and you'll never hear the end about him, Mac Miller, and Wiz Khalifa. It's like nothing else exists from here that's remotely mainstream.

I always wondered where Pittsburgh, CA was. Maybe I will look it up on Google maps. Wherever it is, it must be better than Pittsburgh, Pa.

Krispy Kreme and Money Maker Mike must be from there since Mike always wears a Mac Miller shirt... and other then that, I've never heard of him (I think its Mac Miller at least...)

California, PA is only about 40 minutes from Pittsburgh  But no, I'm splitting time right now between here and California for work until August when I'm out there full-time!

Mayhem makes sense tho. Sure, you got some lames there who only go for the headliners and don't dig anything too extreme. I remember in 2011 I went and this kid near me was sitting arms crossed for Megadeth but go down to Disturbed. But most people who go to Mayhem just like most accessible metal, and Amon Amarth are one of the most accessible death metal bands available. The Judas Priest crowd would have some people like this, but there's more old farts who just wanna hear the classics. None of that screaming shit.

yeah they could both have great stage shows for sure. I'd be p down, especially if King Diamond were included.
