Exactly the point. If it were any other dude fronting this band nobody would give a fuck.

I just find it funny that all of these Bodycount "fans" are now coming out of the woodwork out of seemingly nowhere, when the only mention they would get before by anyone was how controversial Cop killer was in like 1943. It's like when Watchmen was released and everyone out of nowhere was a huge fan of the graphic novel for a long time.

I just fear when they do tour they'll do some gay tour and open up for like Miss May I and The Devil Wears Prada.

I wish they would tour with like Biohazard and Madball.

Law and Order SVU got renewed for a 16th season last week.... so he's gonna have to work Body Count tour dates around his shooting schedule for playing a TV cop. I don't think a joke even needs to be made.

Body Count is perfect "turn off your brain and don't give a shit about quality" music. It's stupid and not good at all critically but for some reason it's fun.

Also full lineup announced:

Hey, I remember when that album came out. Your timeline is a little off, it was 1992;)

Yeah, Cop Killer caused a lot of controversy but the album did have a couple of hits with There Goes The Neighborhood and The Winner Loses. So, it's wasn't just Cop Killer that got them known. The fact that Ice-T was fronting a metal band was a big deal at first to and that got them a lot of hype from the start. So, even without Cop Killer the album would have still been successful. I remember liking the album back then but I wouldn't call myself a fan. It's been over 20 years since I listened to the damn thing. I wonder if I still got the cassette of that lying around somewhere:eyes:

I remember about three - four years ago finding a used copy of that debut album with "Cop Killer" on it for like.... ~$6.99, then at the same record store they had a used copy of the version without "Cop Killer" and it was about $8.99... UMMM... YEAH!

You would think the one with Cop Killer would cost more since they did pull that version of the album off the shelves for a bit. Seriously, you were one of the lucky ones back then if you had the version with Cop Killer on it.

That's what I was thinking! I thought that maybe the labels got swapped when they were pricing, but I wasn't going to say anything.

Also, some frustration I must vent... the first 2-3 tracks on "Born Dead" just sound like a bunch of intro songs

I agree with that. Born Dead was good but it got off to such a slow start. Their cover of Hey Joe is awesome

For those calling me out on the "1943" comment...I know it didn't actually come out that year. I was saying it was so long ago that no one gives a shit anymore. Thanks for making me explain that.

Damn it, you mean my original edition CD with Cop Killer on it isn't a rare collector's item worth $100? As someone else on this thread said, I bet I haven't listened to it in 20 years.

There used to be a record store near me selling the original version for atleast 60 bucks, I grabbed it on iTunes like a decade ago when I randomly had the urge to hear "There Goes the Neighborhood"

I'm covering this year's Mayem Fest for a local magazine, and say what you will, but I actually think Ice-T would give a great interview.

Found a leak. OMG I love this album. The riffs are great, songs & lyrics are at times juvenile but god they are funny at times. They cover Jay Z's 99 Problems in a very Body Count way. The gem is them covering ST Institutionalized. I haven't been laughing during a song that hard in a long time. It's basically like the song got updated for 2014 (Ice playing X Box & forgetting his email password and talking to customer service). It's a fun album. Worth buying.

Late to the party I know, but this shit was one of the best things I have ever seen. The production is actually rock-solid when it comes to modern metal engineering too. I will be a first day buyer.

the 99 Problems song isn't a cover of Jay-Z. They're using the guitar from it, but Jay-Z based his song off #NiggaIPreferLemonade's 99 Problems, which is what the Body Count version is a remake of.
