Went to buy my 3 day pass at 8pm when they went on sale, ticketfly was crashed, luckily got a 3 day pass for $99 seconds before they sold out, then it went to $130 and that sold out within 5 minutes and next ticket bracket is $169.

These sold out fast.

I'll say this: there certainly isn't anywhere else you're gonna see Tegan and Sara, Mastodon, and Wu-Tang Clan together.

I really wish I could go this year :( Last year was a blast.

This, the three days I spent last year doing this was a blast, this year it'll be right after 21 so it's going to be amazing.

I wouldn't hope for much. so much of Riot Fest is just the one show, bands usually make Riot Fest their only stop or their offdate.

I'm excited to see the aftershows.

Gwar?

No Hannemann No Gwar

That's what I'm wondering, GWAR plays yearly so I'm wondering if they either didn't take them off or if we get a special GWAR show.

PUSSY RIOT!?!?!? Holy shit, I'm surprised they're even allowed into the states. The fact that they're performing, and Samhain, easily makes this Riot Fest the best by far. I'd just like to shake those crazy bitches' hands

So people actually like that "band"? I think it's an embarrassment that they're that high on the list.

I doubt it, I was just telling someone this will prolly be the only time I'll ever get to see Samhain.

also people are speculating on who will do vocals for the GWAR songs and people are saying Randy Blyth since LOG won't be on tour.

I think it's kinda funny that of all festivals in Chicago Jane's Addiction could play, they're playing this. Solid lineup, Failure and Cock Sparrer are worth it alone.

Don't like the music, but anyone that's 8 months pregnant and having public sex in the middle of a museum gets a tip of the hat from me

Why on earth is Mastodon billed lower than BMTH

And Of Mice And Men

BMTH/OM&M tour

2/03/2014 - Orlando, FL - Plaza Live - 1,302 / 1,302 - $26692
2/17/2014 - St. Paul, MN - Myth - 3,178 / 3,178 - $72910
2/21/2014 - Plymouth, MI - Compuware Arena - 4,618 / 4,618 - $140450 (a fest, but still were 2 of the top 3 billed out of 7)
2/26/2014 - Sayreville, NJ - Starland Ballroom - 2,300 / 2,300 - $67856
2/28/2014 - New York, NY - Best Buy Theater - 4,300 / 4,300 - $100434 (2 shows)

and those are just the shows that were in boxscore, going to guess there were more sellouts

the mastodon/gojira tour seems to have had a few sell outs, but slightly smaller venues in those cases (a point of direct comparison, their MN show sold out at first avenue 1500 cap), and not as extensive a tour

dcmetal108

Why on earth is Mastodon billed lower than BMTH

Because BMTH sold out here two nights in a row this year and sold them out months in advance.

Also the order on the poster isn't always the order they run on. So BMTH will prolly play at like 5pm one night while the headliner is on at like 9 or 930

detuned
05-14-2014, 06:33 PM
not to mention 3 different days mixed together. almost always nothing more than rough approximations when you get past the first line or two on posters like this.

powerslave_85
05-14-2014, 06:34 PM
Yeah, the poster is not an accurate representation of who plays when.

10 YEARS, 10 ESSENTIAL ALBUMS

To help celebrate Riot Fest's 10th Anniversary, ten bands have joined in to play their seminal albums either at Riot Fest in Chicago or both in Denver and Chicago. Here are nine of the ten bands:

JANES'S ADDICTION: Nothing Shocking (Chicago)
THE OFFSPRING: Smash (Chicago)
WEEZER: "The Blue Album" (Chicago & Denver)
SLAYER: Reign in Blood (Chicago & Denver)
SAMHAIN: Initium (Chicago)
NOFX: Punk in Drublic (Chicago & Denver)
DESCENDENTS: Mile Goes to College (Chicago)
NAKED RAYGUN: Throb Throb (Chicago)
THE GET UP KIDS: Something to Write Home About (Chicago)

I can't even explain how good this will be.

Question: Riot Fest doesn't do 1 day tickets correct? I want to go to the Denver version but I'm broke and if I had a day to pick, I would do the day Slayer is playing

I'd slit some throats to see The Get Up Kids, Descendents and Slayer do full albums.

Weezer needs to cut the shit and do Pinkerton, though.

Give it a few weeks and you they should do one day tickets. They usually do two day passes as well for Friday and Saturday.

Just be warned, I don't know how Denver is but one day passes do sell out. I think one day passes are $70 or $80 a day.

Yea like I said I'm broke and by the time I would be able to get some $$ together, the pricing tier for the 3-day will be up to $229 or whatever; as much a I would love to attend the whole 3 days I have to pick my battles;)

Really? Highest for Chicago is $189 (it's at $179 right now) before they sell out of 3 day passes.

Last year I bought tickets like a month before and ended up having to do a 2 day and one day pass and it cost me about $200.

This year I got lucky with the early bird and with fees the 3 day cost me $120 ($99 for the ticket and like $22 in fees)

You're right I was thinking of the VIP pricing....I don't know maybe I can swing it, it's not that bad for 3 days, I suppose

and what's nice is that the venue is only 50 minutes away from my house, so I don't need to camp...

Yeah Chicago does it in a giant park in a usually kinda shitty area but it turns out really nice.

Depending what suburb you live in, park at the Rosemont Blue Line Station and take the Blue Line to the California stop. Humboldt Park is about a fifteen minutes walk from there.
