Time to make a thread since there's a title now (http://www.blabbermouth.net/news/overkill-new-album-title-revealed-2/)

Due in July.

"Face-melting thrash"

Sounds good to me! A bit of a weird album title for Overkill, but if it's of the same quality of the last couple, I'll be happy.

I'm hoping this one is better than The Electric Age. I've listened to that album a lot, but I can't get into it. Ironbound was far better.

Nothing wrong with that song, that's for sure. It, along with "It Lives" and "Long Time Dyin'" is one of the few reasons I have to listen to FTUAB. I know it's one of Blitz's favourite 'Kill records, but I just don't agree!

Agreed. Ironbound is such an amazing album, especially considering how long Overkill has been at it. There's very little I would consider filler, and songs like "Endless War", "Bring Me the Night" and "Give a Little" are among the best songs DD & Co. have ever laid to tape.

I've seen them play Endless War. It was very cool.

Only just realised the number of different Overkill songs I've seen them do. Much more extensive than I thought! 40 different songs between 2009 and 2014.

Ah, cool. I thought they had some kind of a basic setlist, more or less like Motörhead.

Why is the budget for Overkill album covers since forever ago always like 7 bucks? The album title at least gave me some visuals which is a good thing, then this...oh well. Looking forward to the most important part...the tunes.

I think its a cool album cover. They have had far worse also I was kinda hoping they would do a new Overkill song. I feel like we are overdue

I met him once after a concert, he is > me too.

I actually did too, the man > 99% of most things. If the Kill was given a 17 song setlist like Megadeth they'd have blown everyone away at Gigantour.

The album cover is meh.

Electric Age is a better album, but between the two Give A Little is the best song.

King of the Rat Bastards is the best title ever.

I think it's a pretty shit cover. They've been making essentially the same album cover since... The Killing Kind? Big skull with bat wings, random grainy shit surrounding it. And please, no more "Overkill" songs... Overkill V was garbage. The saga should have ended with E.N.D. some 25 years ago.

Electric Age is a better album.

I thought you liked thrash?

The new cover looks great. Not as interesting as The Electric Age, but it's still a cool cover.

I also just finished listening to Ironbound because of all of the discussion in this thread, and concluded that it is still unbelievably good.

Electric Age has a lot of fast songs on it, so I don't know where this comment comes from.

I was just givin' ya the gears! In all seriousness I like the Electric Age a lot, but I think Ironbound absolutely destroys it in every way.

Noticed on OvakilOZ, The Australian OverKill Fansite's FB status yesterday:
The U.K. digi pack will be released with 2 bonus tracks, "The Fight Song" and a Nazareth cover song, "Miss Misery"
Miss Misery will feature Bobby 'Blitz' as well as Accept vocalist Mark Tornillo at the mic!

Yeah I have these 2 cd's in different leagues. Probably because I hate the lyrics to electric rattlesnake also. The Big 4 on Ironbound, The 1st 3 and Give a Little are mind-blowing.

Overkill has never really had great lyrics, but yeah, geez. I don't really understand how or why lyric videos became popular in extreme metal, considering 95% of the lyrics are throwaway garbage (I say this as someone who likes lyrics). I mean, does anyone really care what the lyrics are for Whitechapel, Aborted, Vader, Origin, Goatwhore, Hour of Penance, Suffocation? It's totally absurd to me why labels waste time making these.

Probably simply because it's like a music video that is significantly cheaper to make.

As for the song, yeah it rocks hard in spite of its silly lyrics. Pretty excited to hear what the rest of the album's like.

True, but are there actually people who sit there and watch these? Usually if I'm listening to a new song, I put it to play in one tab and then go back to whatever I was doing.

Yeah, was expecting more ..interesting..lyrics when I kept seeing the new song was going to be called "Amorist" at first, not "Armorist"...!?
