Def want to go, the Philly date is a misprint though, unless they're playing an area outside a bar that holds maybe 1,000 people.

This

While I am a causal fan of NIN and don't have much interest for Soundgarden, the fact that Red Rocks is hosting this is what makes me what to go

STORY TIME!

My first job was at Red Rocks doing food/beer service; I loved the job and saw plenty of shows while working but I have never seen a concert there outside of that, since Red Rocks rarely does bands that really interest me ("there's no pit broa")

Aug. 8 Aaron's Ampitheatre, Atlanta, GA
Aug. 17 Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas, TX
Aug. 25 Hollywood Bowl, L.A., CA

Tack 8/5 at Farm Bureau Live and 8/24 at Shoreline Amphitheater to the leaked dates list. I'd expect the official announcement tomorrow since I'm pretty sure they're going on sale on the 14th.

I know I saw a link somewhere mentioning the sale date being the 14th but that seems rather quick from the announcement for a major tour like this. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

How much for "platinum seats"? I paid $70 for mid-level seats and feel iffy about it.

Question for people who've seen NIN live: Is their live show good enough that even a non-fan like me would get my money's worth at a show like this? I like a handful of NIN songs, pretty much just whatever's been released as singles, but I haven't delved too deep in their catalogue (outside of the radio hits like Closer, Hurt, etc. i've heard Pretty Hate Machine and With Teeth in their entireties and felt kind of "eh" for the most part). I've been meaning to give Downard Spiral and The Fragile a spin since "Closer" and "We're In This Together Now" are too good.

But back to the original question. Would I still enjoy the live show if I'm familiar with some of their stuff? I haven't listened to the new album and whatever I heard off of Year Zero I didn't like at all (which I guess begs the question: is their setlist heavily weighted towards newer material). I'm a big enough Soundgarden fan that I feel like I could still feel like I "should" be there, so to speak, but with the insane ticket prices i'm wondering if spending $100+ on a ticket would be worth it based on the information i've given.

Any input would be appreciated.

Don't spend $100+, but their shows are absolutely worth it for a non-fan, if for no other reason than the spectacle and production. The light shows are incredible, and Reznor's voice is still as solid as ever. Even if you like the hits you'd have a good time. My advice is to check out mid-range seats, or even the lawn if it's available at your venue.

AnthG

Lawn tickets at the Toronto show are still $40. I'd rather pay a lot more for really good seats then save some money for a somewhat crappy lawn view. But noted, I will defintely see what the other price options are.

I was pretty much a casual NIN fan when I first saw them and their show blew me away. I think Soundgarden's music is better, but NIN destroys them live.

Did anyone get two or more tickets for the "best" seats during the presale? I was on right at noon and haf no luck. Got two mid-lower priced seats though. Of course there are already 500+ tickets for Tinley Park on Stubhub.

I just noticed there is a three day break between CO and Tinley Park, maybe NIN will do an off-date in Milwaukee?

The NIN presale today had a limit of two tickets only. My friend was able to grab two second row tickets to the Red Rocks show at least 15 minutes after they went on sale.

I can't see them playing an off show w/o Soundgarden but perhaps a second Red Rocks show.
