ok correct me if I'm wrong but it feels like there has been 3-4 shows like this for the KC area all with stupid bands and a stupid name; how many of these shitty shows does KC have?????

This is always my favorite thread every year when it comes out to see how it's titled.

KC Rockfest is the biggest one-day music event in the US. Then we have radio shows that put on some shows (we have a radio station called The Buzz and they do stuff like The Night The Buzz Stole Christmas or Buzz Under The Stars) but this is the only "fest" I think we have around here.

Our rock station, 98.9 The Rock, will latch on to certain bands and beat us into oblivion with them. I can't even begin to tell you how many times Steel Panther, Five Finger Death Punch, Seether, Jackyl/Jackyl projects and Stone Sour have played here because the main disc jockey at the radio station gets his rocks off on them.

Thank Christ for the promoters around here that actively try to combat shitty shit like this by booking legit rock and metal acts that don't come here 3 times a year.

The sad thing is that 989 has so much power, as in convincing people in what shows to go to and what to listen to and they wont do shit to help out the local rock/metal scene. They literally pimped Jackyl so much that they could sell out a 3000 person seater. Same with Volbeat, while they were getting shitty crowds everywhere last year on the Rock Allegiance Tour, they sold 3200 tickets in KC thanks to faggot ass Johnny Dare

I'll never forgive Jackyl for going over their limit at Johnny Dare's stupid fucking birthday bash thing and causing Judas Priest to cut some songs.

Seriously they should have cut the power on them when they went over.

Of course. And it's fucking annoying that they never play shows outside their own back yard.

KC will gladly export them for something of greater value.
