there's gonna be a shitload of Metallica fan from all of north america. I just hope it doesn't mean that the festival would sell out for both days as the week-end passes go on sale this saturday and the 1 day passes just latter. I don't wanna go there with 60 000 plp to see Metallica and have to wait in line an hour for a beer. I would love to see Slayer though ...

If I could even begin to grasp affording it I would go for Metallica, Slayer, Lamb of God, Exodus and check out some other bands. I agree a majority of Metallica fans have the resources to pull off the travel/ticket costs, I do not

I saw Metallica at parc Jean-Drapeau on their Summer Sanatarium tour in 2003 and it was a nightmare... to get in there, get out and to be able to enjoy it because there was way to many people for us to be able to move around and have a pleasant day. I really had to wait around an hour to get to a beer\food stand. Remember this location is on an island so there's the subway or a bridge to get there

Yes, Body Count, Bad religion, Symphony X and Cynic are on Summer Slaughter this year.

....Actually I'd really like to see that.

it's advertised as their only north american summer show (bold)

Because they are, IMO, the biggest "new" American metal band right now. Like, of course we still have Metallica and Slayer going on and they're legends in their own right, but I feel like Lamb of God will be the first band from my generation of metal listeners to hit that peak.

Don't like the music too much, but the shows are in-fucking-sane.

I do find it interesting - maybe a little surprising but not shocking - that they're billed ahead of Three Days Grace if the poster is any indication. Three Days Grace plays arenas in Canada. I guess they're trying to appeal to the metal fans most with this lineup with the way some of the bands are positioned on the poster, and I do recall Billy Talent (forget the fact that they were booed) in Toronto playing before Rob Zombie, even though Billy Talent does far better attendance wise on their headlining tours in Canada than Zombie does.

I'll be heading in for the Sunday as well. I cant afford both days with Rockfest only a month away and also just having my 3rd child.

Im def looking forward to Slayer:rocker:, LoG, TS :rocker:, DRI (assuming they still make it), Hatebreed :rocker:, Exodus, Bodycount:eek:, Unearth, Cynic and a few others that day too.

Seeing Metallica again would still be kewl and even though Im no longer a fan, to see Offspring do Smash would be kewl as well. Would love to see Anthrax, Voivod, Dropkick Murphys, Municipal Waste, Grimskunk, Overkill and Madball too, but there is just more on the Sunday that appeals to me. Too bad some of these are Saturday and not Sunday.

Also, Im not sure if the promoters made a mistake or not, but Whitechapel are listed to play on Sun but according to their website, they are supposed to be playing on the Sat. They are scheduled to be in Worcester on Sun. They are playing a headliner here in Ottawa on the Fri too with Stick to Your Guns. So I will probly check that out seeing as we would miss them on the Sat.
