Dammit that looks amazing, also if this had been the Gigantour lineup it probably would have sold better.

Fingers crossed on some shows near the cruise.

I honestly don't know what's going on, they cancelled a bunch of festivals and then did Coachella and a bunch of West Coast dates.

I'm just gonna say it now though, they have 12 bands booked. If they did this in outdoor ampitheatres(maybe have a side stage like the Jager one) and this would outsell last year's Gigantour by a landslide.

Megadeth cancels Motorboat due to doc's orders:

Some shitty news for Megadeth fans who bought a ticket for the upcoming Motorboat… Megadeth won't be playing.

Megadeth issued the following statement:

“Due to complications arising from a previous cervical spine surgery, and upon his doctor’s strict recommendations, Dave Mustaine has cancelled all performances for the next 8 weeks. With rest and treatment, he is expected to recover and resume performing soon. The band was looking forward to the concerts and cruise, and is disappointed that they will not be able to see their fans. Megadeth expects to return to the road and will see their fans soon!”

It seems the issues that plagued Mustaine during the NYC Big Four shows have re-arose so he has to step out.

As a make good, the cruise promoters are promising an all-star jam dubbed the Metal Allegiance. Jammers include virtually every notable act on the boat including:

Philip Anselmo (Down, ex-Pantera)
Joey Belladonna (Anthrax)
Chuck Billy (Testament)
Chris Broderick (Megadeth)
Jon Donais (Anthrax, Shadows Fall)
Scott Ian (Anthrax)
Mark Zavon (Kill Devil Hill)
Frank Bello (Anthrax)
Rex Brown (Kill Devil Hill, ex-Pantera)
David Ellefson (Megadeth)
Charlie Benante (Anthrax)
Mike Portnoy (The Winery Dogs, ex-Dream Theater)

So it looks as though this will be an unofficial Metal Masters show. And we know how fun those can be.

This was a blast, even though I was going solely for Megadeth! Some pics: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/pictures/anthrax-megadeth-motorhead-motorboat-photos-20140929

The stages look too small to me...

Glad to see Lemmy was able to put a couple more songs in the set.

As much as I would like to see them one more time, it wouldn't bother me if they never did a full scale tour of the states again. I got to see them three times in three years. Lemmy owes nothing to anyone. But he's Lemmy. The odds of him dropping dead on stage are 1 to 1.

What I don't get is why (according to setlist) did Motorhead do the exact same sets 2 times on the cruise w/ the exception of the 2nd set having 2 less songs on it? Can they not to something a little different the 2nd time around?

You got a point there.

pool stage was too small; the other was fine. didn't even realize the setlists were virtually the same (missed the first show w/ a headache). had wondered about that: pretty weird indeed with a captive audience!?
