Wow. Now that looks impressive.

Indeed. I'd rather everything except 'This Is Your Life' itself were new recordings though. And that Halestorm were nowhere near this as they don't belong in this company.

But nevertheless, instant buy.

Putting the KSE cover of Holy Diver on here is the laziest thing ever.

This is a great line up except that fucking cover of Holy Diver. God damn it I hope this doesn't mean they start playing it live again.

So is the Adrenaline Mob cover of Mob Rules and the Doro cover of Egypt, but at least those two are good.

Putting KsE on here, and getting Halestorm to record something, is simply a sad attempt to appeal to younger fans.

That's a sick album cover. I cant wait for this cd!

Wasn't Iron Maiden supposed to be doing a song for this?

That's a sick album cover.

It's a pretty shoddy photoshop job (Doro's head, Biff's arm, Scott Ian's head, etc.), but the concept is certainly awesome :D

On the song front, not having Anthrax do Heaven & Hell is stupid.

This looks like a very good tribute album. I agree that including the KSE cover is a bit lazy though. It isn't even a good cover to begin with. I'm sure if they put a little effort in they would've found a better cover of Holy Diver out there.

I usually don't bother checking out tribute albums but this one is certainly worth a listen.

I'll definitely check it out.

On the same note, Dio Disciples are playing here a week from tomorrow.

Yeah, but with the crappy line-up.

I'll have a listen but there are way more B-list contributors than I thought there would be.

The one thing bothering me about this is that Kirk Hammett isn't good enough to wipe Ritchie Blackmore's ass, let alone record a tribute with his music.

Yeah. I just looked up the current line-up. No Ripper. I think I'll probably pass, now, since the venue they're playing at is actually an hour drive away.

I know it's a revolving kind of thing, but Dio Disciples needs to be Ripper and Toby for me. Any other line-up is just low-rent stand-ins because those two aren't available.

Halestorm is ok as long as they are doing covers. Pretty much the only time they are ok.

Their cover of Slave to the Grind is actually pretty great.

Apropos of nothing one of the best Dio covers I've heard is Rob Rock's cover of Last in Line. Rob doesn't get near enough respect.

Really needs the Dio tribute band from here in Seattle, Rising, on this. They're great!

This explains why halestorms cover didn't end on there covers EP. I was so surprised when they didn't include it, when I've seen them play it twice in a year. They doo a nice job though.

Holy crap, the Metallica medley actually sounds really really damn good. Decent production and Lars actually sounds really solid and energetic. Robert's totally audible and Kirk's tone isn't fucking horrible. If the band and the engineering sound this good for the next album, we might really be in for a treat.

Yeah, when I heard the Metallica medley a few weeks ago I got super, super stoked. Most energy I've heard on a recording from them in ages, you can tell they're having fun.

Not a bad album, but the song with Halford was a bit of a let down... he sounded so bored :(
