To be fair, if the tour does get announced, he could update the first post. But I agree, without even so much as one leaked date (like all of PVH's "possible tour" threads, for example) this is next to worthless and should have been little more than a post in the "What are you doing" thread or something.

To Bengals, he's not really calling you out. It was a thing from a while ago on here that he's referencing.

This tour would be cool, but I've seen all these bands (Slayer and ST headlining) so it depends on the price.

Blacktooth85
01-16-2014, 11:31 AM
Well all 3 bands are playing Rock on the Range this year. So it's possible there might be some kind of tour with these bands. I don't know if it would be with the exact same line-up, that would be killer though...

I would love to see a headlining Slayer tour. I can't see them just doing 1 off-date in Ohio. They haven't headlined here in St. Louis since 2006, the Unholy Alliance. I'm sick of seeing them at that Mayhem shit.

Knowing ROTR these could all be one offs though, the Fest is known for booking bands who aren't touring and all 3 bands are at a point where they could make the trip for one show(especially since 2 have the same guitarist now)

From WOLVERINEKILLS website:

Tour dates have leaked for the upcoming Slayer, Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus US tour. All of the bands will play at Rock On The Range. No evidence of further tour dates has been revealed.
5-09 – Magna, UT – The Great Saltair
5-10 – Denver, CO – Fillmore Auditorium
5-11 – Billings, MT – Shrine Auditorium
5-13 – Kansas City, MO – Uptown Theater
5-15 – St. Louis, MO – The Pageant
5-16 – Milwaukee, WI – Eagles Ballroom

There, I sourced a source that doesn't seem to source a source

Personally, I don't know what he takes or doesn't; what he charges for or doesn't for. We ask folks to credit our site as I ask folks to credit other people's site.

Everyone ends up quoting Blabbermouth anyway. ;)

We also ask folks not to stir shit up so if grievances are to be had, PM me directly or one of the mods.

For the record, I never charged anyone for any newsletter although the thought did entertain me for a little while... those that visit my website see me credit blabbermouth, billboard.com, lambgoat.com, etc. The reason I didn't credit anyone for the Slayer dates is because someone from one of the band's camps sent them to me after I questioned them about the tour and they wished to remain anonymous.

Guy who books a lot of shows around here said he was booking a Pop Punk show and a Thrash/Hardcore shows in Maine in March. This tour fits the Thrash/Hardcore bill pretty well and he usually doesn't book Thrash shows.

I admit, I don't mind Unearth, so I didn't mind seeing them open. That tour stop in Poughkeepsie, NY remains the most intense show I've ever been to, and one of the most violent. Slayer's setlist was sick that tour, from what I recall.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SLAYER, WITH SPECIAL GUESTS SUICIDAL TENDENCIES AND EXODUS,
TO HIT THE ROAD
Trek Will Culminate with Sets at the
2014 “Rock On The Range” in Columbus, OH

LOS ANGELES, CA - TUESDAY, January 21, 2014 — Slayer will take a break from writing and recording their next album to hit the road on May 9 for a handful of dates intended to pummel devotees with a night of moshing and frenetic thrash-punk-metal. Joining Slayer as Special Guests for these shows are Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus, marking the first time Slayer and Suicidal have toured together since the 1990 European “Clash of the Titans” tour. Gary Holt, who continues to fill in for Slayer’s fallen guitarist Jeff Hanneman, will do double-duty as guitarist in his primary band, Exodus.

Tickets for Slayer/Suicidal/Exodus go on sale this Friday, January 24 - log onto www.slayer.net for ticketing information.

"Can't wait for this week of shows to happen,” said Slayer’s Kerry King. "LOVE Suicidal, and havent played with them in over 20 years! Everyone knows I'm a huge Exodus fan also. I guarantee you I will be watching every show from the stage! Going to be awesome!!!"

“It’s been 24 years since Suicidal Tendencies played with Slayer," added Suicidal Tendencies’ Mike Muir, "so it’s long overdue that we finally play some shows in the States together. I have lots of great memories from that tour, and know that there will be a lot more after these shows, for the band and the people. Can’t wait!"

Gary Holt states, " I am very excited to announce Exodus will be joining Suicidal Tendencies and the mighty Slayer in May for a short trip ending at the Rock on the Range! Double duty will have never been so much fun! Looking forward to this one in a big way! Let the mayhem begin!”

The dates will culminate for all three bands at the May 17 “Rock on The Range” rock festival in Columbus, OH, where they will share the stage with artists including Guns N’ Roses, Avenged Sevenfold, and Kid Rock.

Confirmed dates are as follows:

MAY
9 The Great Salt Air, Salt Lake City, UT
10 Fillmore, Denver, CO
11 Shrine, Billings, MT
13 Uptown Theatre, Kansas City, MO
15 The Pageant, St Louis, MO
16 Eagles Ballroom, Milwaukee, WI
17 Rock on the Range, Columbus, OH

not to mention press release goes out of its way to say "culminate" twice in reference to rock on the range, more specifically "culminate for all three bands". so maybe suicidal has more shows, but with slayer im going to assume not.

There're plenty of dates before and between the ones listed for "culminate at Rock On The Range" to still be true.

That list could get twice as long without contradicting anything in that press release, apart from "hit the road on May 9", but that's hardly a statement it would be uncommon to go back on.

Slayer just did a nationwide tour, so for them this is probably it, but could be the first batch for Suicidal as someone mentioned already.

Tix for STL are $32.50 which is great. Hoping KC doesn't jack there's up double like they did Dream Theater. I was expecting $40-50. I'll take this as a win.

I hope this tour hits SoCal. Slayer were fucking awesome with holt and bostaph, and I wouldn't mind seeing them again with this line up. :snivel:

Well hey I came out to your side of town for the Big 4, why not swing by Denver good sir ;)

I know I am really pushing my luck here, but seeing how Divine Intervention is turning 20, it would be awesome if they did some of the rarer songs off that to celebrate; Killing Fields, the title track and 213 would be outstanding to hear

That would be awesome, hope it happens! Barring new dates being added, I will be going to the opening night of this.

Exactly the same price I paid when I saw them in 2007. Love that.

So have I mentioned how much I fucking hate The Pageant and Ticketmaster?

Try to get balcony tix, and it's taking six minutes to add to the cart, so naturally they're gone by the time it actually attempts to add.

I have only been to the Pageant a few times. The only metal show i seen there was Motorhead, and by the time we got there we couldn't really get to the pit area... Why does the pit suck there? Are there rules about moshing or something?

All the rails and shit. But that's just me.

I also like to watch bands when I see them, not mosh....most of the time.

This sounds like something Event Operations Group came up with in order for the artists to play there.

I know at The Uptown (where this is here) when Danzig played we couldn't take anything that could record anything in, not even a phone. I doubt they'll do that for this, though. There's ALWAYS moshing at the Uptown.

That was a Danzig issue not an Uptown issue.

If no moshing is enforced the # of people left will be in the high teens.

Now that I think about it, doesn't Suicidal basically invite the entire crowd on-stage during their last song?

That would be funny if everyone snuck in cameras and all recorded at the same time just to piss him off.

Or just have Danzig play on a small stage, that'll do the trick.

Yeah i just read that, that sucks. 30 min ain't shit. And they probably won't come back to STL in another 5 years or more. I think the last time Exodus played here was back in 2005... I wish Gary would focus more on Exodus when the new album comes out.
