Does anyone know what sort of program I can download that will allow me to convert a file from Youtube to an MP3? If its even possible. Im not very tech savvy so a complete how-to walkthrough will really help.

My computer is a pretty archaic iMac (circa early 2009) with OS X Version 10.5.8.

Jesus fucking christ, that was easy.

Thanks

Does a site like that stick around for a while or do they get shut down pretty quick?

Well, it took you less than a minute to answer a question I asked my dead-weight brother eleven months ago. Now I can finally listen to this on my iPod! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXkBzTLOyjc)

One last question: no problems/viruses?

Awesome link but I wish it didn't make the videos have to be under 20 minutes.

Hehe, converting shitty lossy files to other shitty lossy files.

Technology wins again.

It's not perfect, but most of the time it sounds completely fine.

I think it's really cool. If you can find me any other way to get the Ilos trench run music from the first Mass Effect game onto my iPod I welcome it.

Just out of curiosity, and probably a stupid question...what do you use the site for?

It's not on this?

Nope, that's a different song. I don't think the one I wanted was ever released in any way, shape or form. Just in game. I can't link it right now but it's on YouTube as "Ilos battle".

I'm using it now to download all the really rare demos, EPs, and 7"'s from various hardcore bands that no one knows and aren't available to buy.

I'd just use it for stuff that is literally impossible to find otherwise. If I can pay for an MP3 or a hard copy I will. But with stuff like the Mass Effect song that has never been commercially released they forced my hand.

I bet there's a way to lift it off the game disc.

It had to get on YouTube somehow. But I'd imagine a PC copy would be the only way, and that's something I don't have.

If you're going to be taking things for free from the internet there are 99% of the time going to be way better options than this, so I express my mild disdain here alongside ravenheart. :eyes:

Same thing goes for everything though...

Buy a new computer, a new one that is more powerful and faster will come out next week.

Buy a new TV, a better one will be on sale the next week.

Just a matter of biting the bullet and going for it.

Those analogies don't really fit this though. This is like getting a free computer that is worse than other free computers that are available at the same time. :eyes:
