Full Review (http://heavymetalcowboysteve.blogspot.com/2013/11/rock-harvest-ii-ashes-of-ares-sound-of.html)

So we've all heard about bookface drama and the Metal sludge reports- but what's the real story? I'm inclined to believe Steve Rachelle....

Basically the turnout was low (kind of expected), but the bands and event was pretty smooth. There were some drum problems for at least 2 bands, but the sound was great, tho maybe not loud enough.

Local favourites A Sound of Thunder sounded solid, and had one of their best shows this year IMO.

Rivera Bomma I only really heard in the background, I didn't find them interesting for some reason. I can't really review them much, except that during AShes of Ares, the Symphony X Bass player stood next to me.

Ashes of Ares sounded awesome- pretty much like the album, but a little rawer. Matt Barlow was allegedly a little sick, but I thought he sounded great! They played their entire album \m/

I am hearing varying reports from my friends who went other days------

I've heard nothing about this because these bands are unknown to me. What are you going on about?

My radio station was promoting this show up until a few weeks ago, and I have no idea why. My guess is booking issues?

I was going to go on Friday for Flotsam and Jetsam and Heathen. Then they both pulled out so I watched Seinfeld and ate doritos on my couch instead.
