Just posted on SubRosa's FB:

Hello everyone, but especially friends in the Sacramento/San Francisco area, could you please repost this list of SubRosa instruments that were stolen from our van yesterday and will most likely be showing up at a pawn shop near you in the near future. We are especially hoping the electric violin that was stolen, being so rare, will stand out and be traced back to us.

Yamaha Sv200 silent electric violin, with wood neck and fingerboard, and black trim

Two nearly identical Schecter Diamond Series guitars, dark mahogany semi-gloss bodies, one with a silver bridge and one without a bridge, with a chip on the left side of one of the headstocks colored in with a Sharpie

Peavey bass T40, natural wood body

Acoustic violin missing an A string and a bridge

Two backpacks, one black Swiss Army and one dark green High Sierra with personal items inside both.

Cadbury Screme egg stolen from the dashboard. Insult to injury.

Slap, TonyD, all the other people in the Bay Area that get to attend innumerable awesome shows, spread this word and keep your eyes pealed if you happen to find yourselves in a pawn shop.

It's a shame the crook chose this band to rob.

This happened in Sacramento, and I'm not too sure most Nor Cal people are from that area. But if I see anything like this it will definitely be reported. This was really shitty news to wake up. I'm definitely going to be donating some dollars here

Damn that's lame. At least it sounds like everything but the electric violin is replaceable. Luckily they didn't get any amps stolen.

Crooks, thieves and liars are the scum of the earth. I have no clue who this band is, but I really hope they get their gear back. My house got broken into a couple years ago, the xbox, laptop, etc etc were replacable, but I probably would have died if my gear was even touched.

This is fucking lame. SubRosa probably don't even make any money on tour, I'm sure they were all losing cash they could have made from their day jobs just so could they do this run.

I doubt slap and Tony would see any of this gear pop up in SJ. Even if I was home back in San Ramon/Dublin, it's still pretty unlikely that I'd see anything. Is there anyone from Sac on the board?

Unfortunately that looks like a super low end Schecter, so it will essentially be impossible to find

Yeah which is good and bad news, doesn't even look like they have aftermarket pickups so you could probably find those for $150.

"Due to a couple devastating setbacks, SubRosa is unable to finish touring with our beloved Samothrace. We plan to come back full force to California within a few months. Thank you for your endless support, Samothrace, Kelly at Pantheon, June and Nate at Nanotear, and friends everywhere. We will see you again soon." - SubRosa FB

God fucking dammit. First Sepultura cancel on me, now this. Shit. :hmm:

Someone on FB said they had an identical Schecter in their shop they could sell to the band if it's not returned.

I don't know anything about instruments so I don't know how much they're worth. Here's a pic of the Yamaha Sv200 electric violin:

That one should be fairly easy to spot in a shop.

KUTV did a report on this. From this news story to a more than successful fundraiser, it's great to see such an incredible band get this kind of amazing support from their community and the metal community.

Right on. Similar thing happened for Ever Forthright when their label left them high and dry on owed fees for touring. Crowdfunding done right.

Unfortunately, this kind of shit happens to bands all the time, and it always seems to happen to the ones who can afford it the least.

Glad to hear they're getting support from the fans and the metal community.

I also hope they don't let this dampen their spirits because they really need to get out east of the Missisippi and play some shows for those of us who l:lovedup:ve them.

Maybe Subrosa can hook up with Giant Squid when they drop their new album next year and tour out East (plzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplz) . :snivel:
