Now that's the "old school" set i was looking for. Awesome opening with Hell Awaits. I might have to take a trip to Chicago to see that set.

Sorry for the format error. I was posting from my phone as Angel Of Death ended.

...god damnit, now I have to go.
Anyone mind telling me how many songs Gojira played?

Christopher and I got inside the venue just as soon as Gojira finished. Sorry Tony.

Incredible show. Christopher dropped my beer, but its cool. I got nothing but love for my people. :hmm:

This was my 7th time seeing Slayer and it was easily in my top three out of the seven times that I've seen them. Band was very tight and on point. Highlight of the show was "Postmortem" and "At Dawn They Sleep" simply because they sounded so fucking good live. Hot damn. Oh yeah, Tom is super fatt and has a wicked awesome beard. :D

I remember thinking Tom was looking dangerously skinny over the last five years or so. Now he's fat? Good for Tom. He must've said "Fuck it. I'm in Slayer so I'm just gonna let myself go!"

Un-hallowed Point?

Yeah I don't know post reign song titles so well. I really don't like anything they did after that. I asked my friend and I thought he said unhallowed and wrote it down as that. Whoops.

Not even South of Heaven?

If you haven't checked that album out in it's entirety you definitely should. Not as popular, but Divine Intervention and God Hates Us All are albums I really like, too.

Cool setlist. I really hope that they break out some "truely" rare stuff at some point on the tour, but I doubt it. I mean stuff they haven't played since the 80's if at all.

Hell Awaits has to been their best opener

I've listened to every album and there are random cool songs here and there. I just feel Slayer was at their best at Reign in Blood. I just get bored with the albums after.

I highly recommend Seasons in the Abyss- I feel like it is a great mix of the fast in your face of RIB and some of the slower darker from SOH

Understandable. But you're right, they were at their peak during the RIB era.

Honestly it's beginning to feel more typical to see those that like Reign through Seasons and nothing before.

I'm not a fan of slower Slayer songs. I sat through SITA twice on the 2010 tour and was bored out of my mind the second time. Again, I've listened to every Slayer album many times. I just don't care for post Reign in Blood material outside of a few songs here and there.

Such an epic opening. One of the best openings that I have ever seen in a concert! Now that i look back, this show was 10x better than mondays sold out show. Holy shit that opening was incredible. I love how Tom screams "Hell Awaits" in the same exact way that he does in the album version!
