Well, some nice surprises in there as well as all the over played classics. Not sure what the deal with the usual newer songs is though.

Necrophiliac, Captor of Sin and At Dawn They Sleep? Very, very nice. I have no idea why Threshold is there though.

Necro-fucking-philiac! Postmortem into Altar/Jesus Saves. I might just start punching myself in the face!

A very solid "normal" set, but I don't see this as "old school" as I though.

I actually like Threshold. Friggin weird - I was listening to God Hates Us All in my car today, it reminded me of the "old school" setlist, when I checked my phone to see this setlist. Very suprised to see Threshold.

Listened to the show live on Sirius. Great set and sound. Toms intro to Postmortem was about Jeff. "Do you wanna die? Why? No one can come up with a reason just an excuse. Nobody wants to die..Dying is a part of life. Let it be."

Of all the songs to pull out of God Hates Us All.. Threshold? Not Payback, God Send Death or Bloodline?
Also weird that they're ending the main part of the set with a new one.
Other than that, nice choice of the "old" stuff.

Yeah, Threshold is a nice surprise. I was not expecting that at all.

I held out hope that the "old school" talk meant there was a chance they'd whip out Haunting The Chapel, but I'll settle for Captor Of Sin.

Necrophiliac and At Dawn They Sleep are some nice consolations as well.

A good set but they didn't really put out any huge surprises outside of Nercophiliac and Captor of Sin, but I was looking for stuff that hasn't been played in a long time like Kill Again, Behind the Crooked Cross, Spill the Blood...and no Hell Awaits still bugs me

but still a good time I'm sure:rocker::rocker:

I would shit my pants. Probably my favourite Slayer song.

I'm with you. It's a good set, but could still use some improvement. Why end the first set with Hate Worldwide? At Dawn They Sleep is great, but Show no Mercy needs to be added.

I'm still holding out a little hope that they will replace all the "world painted blood/god hates us" all songs with older material from 83-85 era for tomorrows show. :snivel:

Replace World Painted blood with EVIL HAS NO BOUNDARIES

Hate world with Crionics

Disciple with Live Undead

Replace Threshhold with Kill Again.

Also, 19 songs? They were busting out damn near 30 songs a night during their 2011 european tour. They could at least throw in a few more songs. Hell awaits, Chemical Warfare, Behind the Crooked Cross are always nice little additions.

:hmm:

So much this. There's no way Bostaph (or just about any other talented drummer) could do those 25 song sets they were doing in 2011 though. Lombardo's a freak of nature, that's pretty much the only explanation that could suffice for him being able to play those sets.

Honestly, I kind of wish Chemical Warfare was being played. Captor of Sin and Necrophiliac being played is awesome though. Other than that, I don't have a lot of problems with that set.

For a tour that has been billed all along as an "old school" set, this doesn't look terribly different to the set they've been playing all year...

Listened to the show live on Sirius. Great set and sound.

I might have to try listening to it at home, it sounded like a bootleg in my car when I heard some of the rebroadcast yesterday. Was hoping for much better sound.

As for the setlist, I don't like it and would have been disappointed to see it. IMHO the only good song on Hell Awaits is the title track and Hardening of the Arteries so pulling out rarities from it does nothing for me. I agree with those who would love to hear Behind the Crooked Cross and more Show No Mercy material, I'm all for that!

Behind the Crooked Cross,

I'd feel the sickness building inside of me, then I'd have to answer to a psychiatrist. Cause I'd lose my mind.
