Aerosmith don’t normally take song requests, but this time they were made an offer they couldn’t refuse. While on tour last week in Japan, a longtime fan named Nobu offered them what Joe Perry says was “a huge amount of money to play his five favorite songs.” Perry says they accepted the offer and then donated the fee to the Japanese Red Cross. The band were joined by their number-one fan when they presented the check in Nagoya.

For the record, the songs Nobu requested Aerosmith play were “Let the Music Do the Talking,” “Kings and Queens,” “Beyond Beautiful,” “F.I.N.E.” and “Full Circle.”

“Full Circle” is a track from 1997′s Nine Lives. Judging by a site that keeps track of songs Aerosmith has played on tour, that’s one song they probably had to relearn for this show.

Full Circle would have been great live. Cool that they donated the money and didn't keep it.

Good to see some different songs in there, especially Kings And Queens.

While I can't say I'm an Aerosmith fan I have to say this is a really cool thing they did. Not only to play the requested songs but to also donate all the money.

Some of those songs they ended up playing a few more times after this show. I'd feel ripped off. Unless the super-fan was also at those shows...

I never heard Full Circle before. It's a really good song. Before the fan's request the last time they had played it was in 1999...which was also in Japan.

Take out Cryin', put in Rats In The Cellar and that's a damn near perfect Aerosmith set.

There are much better songs on Nine Lives that they never play than Full Circle.

Beyond Beautiful is a damn fine choice though.

I love Rats In The Cellar too, don't think I have seen them do it. Nobody's Fault needs to get played sometime, doubt if it will though.

Wow, to be honest, Kings and Queens, Full Circle and FINE are probably 3 of my top 5 Aerosmith songs as well, that would have been amazing.

Kings & Queens is a better song than Draw imho.

Great set, was it filmed? ;)

A handful of times in 1998 and a handful of times in 2003. Including once by my request. Didn't cost me any money either.

They don't like that song.

How did you submit your request? Did you hold up a sign? Did you call in to a radio show?

It was a 2003 preshow thing at the Forum on a tiny stage at the end of the catwalk. The first 2,000 to donate canned food got in. Except only a hundred showed up. There were more ushers waiting for the arena to open than fans.

Steven Tyler said "What do you want to hear? If you want to hear the hits come back tonight." I started yelling NOBODY'S FAULT. Tom came over and said "what?" moved his fingers on the bass appearing to concentrate, joined the band huddle and they played it.

Whoa, that's awesome! I find it weird that so many people passed on the chance to see the pre-show.
