I will gladly sit through 6 hours of shit to see Rammstein again.

Then again, this is the same night as Esoteric & Evoken.

I wonder if Rammstein will do a headline tour around this.

Steev

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a one show deal, they've done it here before and with KoRn headlining they wouldn't have a huge setup

Rammstein would be headlining. Korn don't have the pull or the record sales to play above Rammstein. It'll be 'co-headlining' with Korn first and Rammstein second, similar to the first Unholy Alliance with Slayer and Slipknot.

I think the video is just showing past bands. I highly doubt that is the lineup

Rammstein played a sports arena last time they were here. KoRn plays a +2,000 cap theatre every time they come here.

Rammstein has to headline.

That basically means it's Korn's booking agency putting the show together, that's it.

Line up looks good, I would go if it were in Ireland.

Metallica headlined Ozzys fest.

Good point. Metallica closes over everybody though. Obviously would be better to see Rammstein on their own. I doubt if they are on it but we'll see.

Rammstein has to headline.

Couldn't it be a co-headline? Disturbed and Korn got roughly the same amount of time on the Music As A Weapon V tour, and Korn played after Disturbed about every other night on that tour too. In 2011 (when that tour took place), weren't Disturbed bigger and more of a draw than Korn were?

You guys realize that those list of bands are just bands who played the festival in the past? I doubt that is the rumored line-up....

And are Rammstein really that big in the U.S. that they would headline over Korn?

Korn is playing a theatre here next time they come. Rammstein damn near sold out a hockey arena last time they were here. So yes, yes they are.

If Rammstein toured in North America as often as Korn, they'd be playing the same size venues.

If Korn consistently released good music and put on the same stage production as Rammstein, they'd be playing the same size venues.

Fixed.

This, their 2001 tour barely filled clubs

Their next US run was like a decade later

Rammstein were barely starting to get popular in 2001. Korn were at the height of their career in 2001.

Rammstein's popularity in North America has been relatively stable over that time.

Running order isn't decided by the bands, it's decided by promoters and tour managers.

This is a giant pile of crap.

What an awful lineup. And what's with Korn trying to appeal to the Hot Topic crowd (granted they were once originally appealing to the Hot Topic crowd when the Hot Topic crowd was synonymous with the numetal crowd, but still). All this needs is Falling in Reverse or Escape the Fate and they're good in that regard.

If they had both those I'd totally go, just for the fistfight

Beware of Darkness did Uproar(didn't care for them) but never heard of the others

With festivals it not just popularity, it's also what time the bands can arrive, what time the bands have to leave at. HU can probably only arrive later in the day, AA might have to leave straight after their set. Any number of things could be the reason for it. Could even be the management favoring HU as a band.

Steev
09-03-2013, 08:50 AM
Just seems like an odd move, HU barely fills clubs while AA has gotten(apparently) big enough to be headlining arenas in some cases

Side note, massive LOL at anyone expecting a Rammstein/Deftones show

Asking Alexandria sells out venues 5 times bigger here than Hollywood Undead does.

MGK is odd because he's straight up rap.

Who the fuck is Beware Of Darkness?

I think they just wanted a rapper on this tour because Ice Cube was on the '98 edition.

As much fun as the nostalgia behind seeing Korn would be - especially on another Family Values event, I think I'd take a pass on this lineup.

The prerequisite was never "good" rapper. They needed "a rapper".

I'm surprised there isn't any dubstep in this line-up.
