:(

It was always a treat to see Eyehategod live, and I'll never forget how fucking chill he was when I got to meet him at the Spider House last year.

Damn this is very depressing :( RIP

At least we were lucky enough to see them twice with the original drummer. I wonder what this means for their 25th anniversary show that is coming up. :( :(

Really sad news. I bought Dopestick the other day, after having it on my Amazon Wishlist for almost fifteen years.

Wow, hopefully this won't affect the band too much. What a shame. RIP

Terrible, terrible news.... RIP! I feel honored to have been able to see him perform live. EHG will always be one of my favorites

It had to do with respiratory failure apparently.

“Joseph M. LaCaze, New Orleans native and drummer for EyeHateGod, Mystick Krewe of Clearlight and Outlaw Order, passed away on August 23rd in New Orleans after a very successful five-week UK and European tour with EyeHateGod. He also performed ceremonial voodoo drumming in numerous solo experimental electronics projects. Doctors confirmed to family members that the cause of death was respiratory failure. He also suffered from long term asthma.

An account is set up for the benefit of his daughter Lilith LaCaze. Checks can be made payable to the Lilith LaCaze or Joseph LaCaze donation fund at any Capital One Bank in any city.”
