IMO Korn is not (really) metal. I won free tickets, and I wanted to see Device. So I went.

I thought Korn was not good. Entertaining tho.

And Device...

As Device took the stage, I noticed that... I was expecting more people. There was no bassist or keyboardist. I know they piped in the keyboards, but the bass too? But that was not the strangest part... When the Lita Ford/Ozzy cover appeared in their set, I was looking around for a female singer... and then David Draiman just did both parts himself. "If I sing both parts myself, will this song remain the same?" Kinda. It still sounded good, but... just seemed very odd. As an added bonus, this song featured the best/only guitar solo of the night ... until Korn's cover of another song. I thought they sounded very good, but the set really didn't flow as well as it could have. But the crowd was giving him some mad love.

The setlist.fm has a slightly different Device set, which I believe is incorrect based on my notes from the show (ex: they def played Haze)

Def not worth the $45 the tickets cost... unless you were a Korn fan I guess?

That Korn set is pretty awesome actually! I was a fan for years when they first arrived on the scene, lost interest after Issues unfort as they got stale.

But seeing as Head is back with them, they are bustin out a bunch of great classics! I'd hit this up for them alone if it was near me!

I agree with this comment. Lots of good stuff from the first two albums, especially Chi.

I am not a big Korn fan, but their cover of Another Brick in The Wall is great!

Yes the Korn set is great and when I saw them in Chicago the crowd was a huge pit from the second they walked on till the second they left. Great fun.

I can defend not liking Korn. I can't defend not liking Korn and liking Device.

And WHY IN THE BLUE HELL ARE THEY PLAYING STUFF OFF OF PATH OF TOTALITY?! That album totally blows goats, and with Head in the mix I don't know why they're playing that, or really anything off of the post-TALITM albums. That set is pretty great otherwise, especially how it starts out. I just wish they weren't wasting time playing PoT songs and even Coming Undone. Even if they replaced those songs with just other overplayed singles from the Head era, it'd be awesome.

No doubt. I'm pretty fucking pissed I didn't go now after seeing that set. Damn!

Device is terrible and I have no idea how you could like them and not like Korn, even if Korn was just for nostalgic value. That being said, that's a pretty neat set.
