I think I've said this three times this year already, but: show of the year!

Kreator and Overkill are probably my two favourite thrash bands aside from Metallica and Slayer, and Warbringer is easily the best new thrash band around. Add to this the fact that thrash is the best subgenre of metal, and you have one of the greatest lineups I've ever seen!

If there was a time to see them now would be it. Phantom Antichrist is one of their best albums and they've been on fire live lately. My only worry is that since this is a co-headliner, we won't get full sets from both bands. We'll probably only get 70 minutes each.

They were great with Accept last year.

As far as Warbringer goes, the only time I saw them was on the Iced Earth/Symphony X tour and all I could think was "....meh"

Surprised at all the hate towards Warbringer. I was first exposed to them when they opened for Megadeth and that shitty Suicide Silence. They tore it up that night. I went out and checked out Walking into Nightmares and thought it was a killer album...

But yeah, no surprise there's no St. Louis show. Kreator didn't come through with Accept, and Overkill with Testament tour didn't come through so i thought maybe we might have a chance of this tour. Oh well...

Not the two times I've seen them they're not. Kreator, Testament, Tankard, and Overkill shit all over them. And that's just picking from thrash bands roughly on their status level.

Kreator: I wasn't as into them when I saw them, but I'll take your word for it.

Testament: Worst live band ever. They will not be good until they get a sound guy.

Tankard: Never seen; they look like a fun live band, but I can't imagine it being better than Destruction

Overkill: Definitely a good live band, but nowhere near as heavy or intense as Destruction

Of all of the thrash bands I've seen (Sacred Reich, Coroner, Voivod, Exodus, Death Angel, Sepultura, Anthrax, Megadeth, Havok, Warbringer, etc), only Slayer could beat out Destruction. Combined with the fact that they've been to North America 4 times without getting paid, I'll take any chance I can to see them if they ever come back.

Testament: Worst live band ever. They will not be good until they get a sound guy.

False. Simply, outright, false. Testament are superb live. Sound problems are one thing, performance is something else.

Kreator: I wasn't as into them when I saw them, but I'll take your word for it.

Same for me the first time I saw them. Then saw them again this year and... holy shit! Evile were on right before them and couldn't touch them.

Tankard: Never seen; they look like a fun live band, but I can't imagine it being better than Destruction

They really are super fun. Their songs are dumb as fuck, but their energy is only beaten by Overkill. And Gerre's gut must take some serious cultivation if he can continue to maintain it with all the running around on stage he does every night. He's like Bruce Dickinson. If Bruce Dickinson ate the rest of Iron Maiden.

Overkill: Definitely a good live band, but nowhere near as heavy or intense as Destruction.

Of all of the thrash bands I've seen (Sacred Reich, Coroner, Voivod, Exodus, Death Angel, Sepultura, Anthrax, Megadeth, Havok, Warbringer, etc), only Slayer could beat out Destruction.

Oh, Death Angel! Forgot them; they're better live than Destruction too. Another one as energetic as Overkill. Exodus would be too if it weren't for Rob Dukes.

Heavy and intense is Destruction's music, not their live performance, which is motionless, disinterested, and boring. Schmier usually looks like he doesn't even want to be there.

Combined with the fact that they've been to North America 4 times without getting paid, I'll take any chance I can to see them if they ever come back.

Didn't get paid four times? Man they need to start signing better deals!

Testament's sound is so bad that I can't tell what songs they are playing. I've seen them twice where that was the issue (of the 3 times I've seen them, but the third time they definitely weren't doing their own sound), and my brother has seen them a couple more as well and said the same thing.

Also, I was disappointed by their lack of professionalism on the Overkill tour. The Toronto date was the first one were Overkill officially dropped off, and Testament cut their set short because Chuck Billy was sick. That was fine, but they didn't even bother giving an explanation to the crowd. We only got 12 songs instead of 16. Combined with no Overkill, and I don't really feel like we got our money's worth there.

I have no problem buying their future albums, but I don't want to pay to see them live anymore.

I was at that show too, and I'll agree it was incredibly disappointing to have no Overkill and Testament play a shortened, basically death-metal-vox-only set, but Testament's sound was fine. They sounded heavy, and I could hear everything so I'm not sure what you were hoping for.

The one time I saw Destruction, it wasn't that great, but they had a lot of technical problems during the set. Also I thought their music came across more 'naturally' from the stage as opposed to their very produced album sound. It was a very big, noticeable difference, but not in a bad way IMO.

Stage presence/energy wise, Overkill sets the bar intimidatingly high.
