What are 5 bands you desperately need to see that are on your 'bucket list'?

In no order except the first one:

Iron Maiden :bouville:
Pallbearer
Tool
Rammstein
Royal Thunder

Boston. Doesn't even matter that Brad's no longer here. Tom Scholz has one of my favorite guitar sounds ever. It's completely unique and I have to hear it live someday.

Electric Wizard. For the sake of furthering my hearing loss and enjoying every minute of it.

Pentagram. Sabbath invented doom. Pentagram perfected it.

Blue Murder/John Sykes. I'd prefer the former, but I must see Sykes in some capacity. One of my favorite guitarists.

Gonna actually see this one this summer. Alice Cooper as a headliner.

Spiner202
03-22-2013, 06:08 PM
Metallica
Manowar
Avantasia
Helloween
Sodom

I definitely feel pretty lucky. Of my favourite bands, these 5 (along with Cannibal Corpse, whose I'm seeing in a couple months) are the only ones I haven't seen that are still touring. And to be fair, Manowar, Avantasia, and Sodom are near impossible to see in North America, so they'll probably be on there for a long time.

Iron Maiden
Metallica
Alice Cooper
Elton John

That's all I can think of. 4 bands that I would go far out and pay a lot to see.

Quite lucky in this regard, I will not include artists I'm seeing this year as Graspop is knocking Clutch and King Diamond off the list, Evile are supporting Kreator here and I'm seeing Devin Townsend here as well.

Rush
Periphery
J Mascis
Rollins Band (Bad Religion, since Rollins band will probably never tour again)
Nofx

Also a couple of artists/bands I would love to see but who do not tour, such as Cloudkicker, the aforementioned Rollins Band and Strapping Young Lad.

Shit dude, I thought for sure someone with your taste would have seen all those bands already except maybe Morbid Angel since they don't tour much. When did you see Maiden?

I'm pretty fortunate in that I've seen most of the bands I'm dying to see. There are still a number I really want to see such as King Diamond, Rammstein, Behemoth, and Primus but I wouldn't be totally heartbroken if I never got the chance to see them.

My top 5 would be:

Blaze Bayley
Bruce Dickinson (if he ever tours solo again)
AC/DC
Van Halen
Blind Guardian

PowerMaiden
03-22-2013, 07:06 PM
Rage Against The Machine
Venom
Sodom

maybe Soundgarden but from what I heard Chris' voice is not really good lately

the other bands I regret \ have not seen yet are no longer touring\ together

Cheers !

Pearl Jam
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Sepultura
Soulfly
Morbid Angel

I only put Soulfly because I've never seen Max Cavelera live. Sepultura and Max Cavelera were both so important in shaping me as a metalhead that I need to see both of them some day. So you could swap Soulfly for Cavelera Conspiracy, which I think is the better band anyway.

Erm.... difficult. I ticked off a whole bunch in the last year or two, like Pentagram, Black Sabbath, Saint Vitus, Crowbar, Gojira, Tony Martin and Rob Zombie... and I'll be ticking off Johnny Winter, Rush, Sahg, Jeff Scott Soto, and hopefully Bloodbound, Morgana Lefay and Ihsahn this year. I guess that leaves:

Bruce Dickinson
Halford
Ray Wilson
Yngwie Malmsteen (technically have seen him play short sets at two events, but never a full show with a singer)
Lizzy Borden

Sanitarium78
03-23-2013, 05:22 AM
King Diamond
Mercyful Fate
Faith No More (headlining, saw them open for Metallica and GnR in 1992)
Alice In Chains (only saw them open for Ozzy in 1992)
Within Temptation

After over 20 years of going to concerts, i've seen just about every band headline that i've wanted to. That's why I put FNM and AIC on my list, i've only seen then as the main support band. I know why FNM has never happened but I have no clue why it is that I keep on missing AIC when they tour?

Carcass
At The Gates
Black Sabbath
Alice In Chains
Immortal

03-23-2013, 12:20 PM
Manowar
Black Sabbath
Motorhead (Playing a headlining set, only seen them as an opener)
Guns N Roses
Exodus (Would also like to see them as a headliner)

Otherwise, I've been fortunate enough to have seen most of my favorites.

kalfitegrdan
03-23-2013, 12:29 PM
Asphyx
King Diamond
Anaal Nathrakh

My bucket list is primarily bands I'd have no chance of seeing:

Black Sabbath (original line-up)
At the Gates
Black Flag (w/ Henry Rollins)
Bolt Thrower
Modern Life is War

1) Suffocation (Next month!)
2) Devourment (Missed them last week. Pissed I couldn't go, as these guys never tour.
3) Morbid Angel
4) The Acacia Strain
5) Aborted (hopefully in May)

Blitzkrieg Witchcraft
03-23-2013, 01:53 PM
The Crown
Cormorant
Redemption
Wintersun

Seen pretty much every other metal band that I've wanted to.

Bolt Thrower.

That's it.

03-23-2013, 04:05 PM
Riverside
Paradise Lost
Bruce Dickinson
Armored Saint
Threshold

Finally going to get to see Riverside in May, so I should be able to cross them off of the list. The one band that I am most disappointed that I never got to see is Pink Floyd.

My list is getting short, since I have been making an effort to see the ones on my list - especially the "older" ones who might not give me many more shots at it!

1. AC/DC

2. Eric Clapton (currently considering forking over the $$$ for the Mohegan Sun show)

UPDATE: Found a not-completely-unreasonable ticket for Clapton, so he's off my bucket list now.
2. Anything with Jimmy Page in it.

3. Joe Satriani

4. Allman Brothers Band

5. Guns 'N' Roses (even the Axl version)

Royal ThunderAll awesome. :fist:

Morbid AngelIt's already been said, but of all the folks who have mentioned these cats in this thread, you are the most surprising.

Also, me too. :eyes:

Anaal Nathrakh
The ProdigyInteresting picks, and same here.

A few bands that either don't tour, or who aren't going to tour again: Fall of Efrafa, Drudkh, Burst...I feel so fortunate to have seen them on their one and only U.S. tour a few years back. Got to meet and talk to Linus for like forty-five minutes, too. Super nice guy, and a truly great band who were criminally under-rated and stopped making music way too early.

By the way, ya know who I would put on a list like that? Hard to believe, but I never saw Judas Priest.

I know, I know. Fucking ridiculous.

*shelsInteresting pick. Same here.

Likewise to all you guys who said GY!BE.

For my part, if I had to pick just five, it would be very difficult, as others have said. However, just off the top of my head (and keeping it to bands who are still active, just to help narrow it down somewhat):

Cobalt (although that will be remedied in approximately two months!)
Ufomammut (this was supposed to be a ditto, but alas it looks like I'll have to wait :()
SubRosa
Anaal Nathrakh
Ides of Gemini (I may get a chance to remedy this soon as well, but I don't know yet...)
This Will Destroy You (and a whole host of other post rock acts out there, but these cats top the list)
The Prodigy

So fuck off, I listed seven and not five.

The Prodigy doesn't count, since they're not metal, and Cobalt doesn't count because I'm seeing them soon, so there.

I guess the main one for me would be a band I hope will one day return and tour again, and that band is Fugazi. Had two chances to see them when I was younger and missed out on both.

The rest of mine are artists that are always too pricey for me when they come around, Prince and AC/DC, and artists that I do not believe have made it to the US, Light Bearer and Feastem. I'm tempted to also include Black Flag, but I guess I'll technically be seeing two different versions in the coming months. I just wish it was the "Damaged" line up. I also wish it was in 1981.

I saw Candlemass back in 2008. They were really cool but I think the turnout was so bad for the whole tour that they won't be coming back unfortunately. Unless they got offered a spot on a festival or something.

Meat Loaf (I swear if the Last at Bat tour really is his last tour I am going to see him and nothing can stop me)

I saw him back when he toured for Bat Out Of Hell 2 in a 3,000 seat theater. It was the perfect setting for his music/show. I doubt he can even come close to that kind of performance now.

Australian Death MachineSo let me get this straight - they're so important to you that they're one of five bands on your bucket list, and you can't even get the name of the band correct?

Anyway, I recently saw both Ides of Gemini and Cobalt, who were both on my list, so now it's down to:

CARCASS (Pretty pretty pleeeaaasssseee!)
Bloodbath (Yeah, probably not gonna happen)
Judas Priest (Also probably not gonna happen)
System of A Down (Nostalgia!!!!)
Kreator (Most likely will happen later this year!!! :D)

It's amazing how many of the top bands on my last.fm I have seen live. It's been a great 5 or so years for shows.

Maiden33
06-03-2013, 08:48 PM
I definitely would include Avantasia and Fates Warning, but I'm (barring catastrophe) finally going to see both this year, so I guess I'll remove them and do 5 others.

Savatage (not going to happen, but what the hell)
LORD
Bruce Dickinson (also not going to happen, because I doubt he'll ever play another solo show)
Circus Maximus
Nocturnal Rites

Honestly, that's a weird list but that's about it. I've been very fortunate with a lot of the shows I've seen, so with Avantasia and Fates Warning joining the list, I really have seen all of my absolute favorite bands live except for Savatage. There's also a good number of bands I've only seen once or twice that I would really love to see again (Blind Guardian, Evergrey, Riot, Pagan's Mind, UFO, etc.)

Also, sadly I never got to see Dio as a solo artist. HUGE regret/unfortunate reality.

though I'm not familiar with Chrome Division.

Shagrath's (Dimmu Borgir) band is awesome. Tits, beer, rock n roll, etc. Not an original theme, but the Motorhead type music just kills. They are 3 albums in at this point.

I've seen Rush 10x and Cooper 8x:D

Along with Maiden, Rush and Cooper are the best shows you will see.

I know, Pink Floyd is never gonna happen. Seeing Roger Waters alone was amazing, I couldn't even imagine actually seeing Pink Floyd. I'd miss the birth of my child for that

Two down (Avantasia and Helloween)!

The next two on my list would be Morbid Angel and Stratovarius.
