When are they going to announce who is on it?

I'll be in Tejas!

Screw it, I'll travel! I'll never forget the first Scion Rock Fest.....it was held in Atlanta, and had one of the best lineups I've ever seen. Mastodon, Neurosis, High on Fire, and like 30 other bands. The only catch was, you had to be 18.....I was a week away from turning 18. ONE DAMN WEEK!!!

I was 16 :bouville:

If the lineup's good, and I'm sure it will, I may have to hitch a ride with you!

I'm surprised they didn't get Bolt Thrower for this. Also, that would be cool if Hank 3 played this year. :rocker:

Got to go to the Atlanta and Tampa ones and they both ruled. I go to school in the Nashville area but I'm graduating in May. I'm moving back to Georgia but it's still not far if the line-up is good enough.

Hank 3 has 2 new albums dropping soon and a tour in May. Scion would fit nicely and make me drive to Memphis so long as the rest of the line up is decent.

Hank 3
Pallbearer
Royal Thunder

Would love to see those 3 bands there.

I know! I can't wait to hear the next two albums! I hope the unknown second one is the Hellbilly one!!! Whenever he drops new albums, he always starts his tour at the HOB in NOLA. He is supposed to start a tour for the new albums soon, this would fit perfectly for his touring schedule if this was the first night.

Partial lineup

The other headliner looks like Testament

I care for none of these bands.

Testament as a headliner would be weak.

Meh...not as excited as previous years. But still 14 more bands to announce so I'll keep an open mind.

I'm doubting Whitechapel. These feats have always been mostly underground bands. I'd be disappointed if they started adding deathcore.

hey moobers, do you know if Cobalt is on this?? I know you just booked them in pittsburgh and Scion's been trying to work something out with them for a while now...

if not, Subrosa is enough

Whitechapel, like them or not, is a no brainer since the fest is in Tennessee and they are probably the biggest underground metal act from that state.

03-19-2013, 01:44 PM
The Sword isn't on it, wtf

So far here's what I found

The one next to Whitechapel is The Obsessed
Next to Municipal is Corrosion Of Conformity
Left of The Shrine looks like Rotting Out
Royal Thunder is to the right of Vision Of Disorder
Bottom left is Inter Arma

If this weren't the same day as Bolt Thrower, I might consider driving down there just for Impaled. The Casualties, A Life Once Lost and Subrosa would also be awesome.

Whitechapel sticks out like a site thumb, but nearly everything else looks amazing. I'm jealous of any Midwest folks that'll make it out to this.

Pallbearer and Touche Amore are the two big ones for me that need to tour surrounding this fest and hit somewhere a bit closer to Bloomington.

Any word on any other Testament dates? It's kind of odd that they would just play 1 off-date in Memphis and not do a few more shows around the South or Midwest. June 1 is right around the corner so i would highly doubt they would announce anything on short notice... They haven't played here in St. Louis since 2009.

Looks like I can have a casual early afternoon, and then shit gets completely crazy. The tiny Obsessed/Testament overlap is a slight bummer, but I'll make it work. I should look into some of the earlier bands and make some decisions. Suggestions welcome. I dig Inter Arma but just saw them recently so I may as well see someone else.

*3:15 - 3:40 COMPLETE FAILURE (Handy Park)
4:00 - 4:25 INTER ARMA (Club 152)
**4:30 - 5:10 VEKTOR (New Daisy)
*5:15 - 5:30 CODE ORANGE KIDS (Hard Rock)
5:35 - 5:40 ICE DRAGON (Club 152)
**6:00 - 6:40 SUBROSA (Club 152)
**6:45 - 7:00 TOUCHE AMORE (Hard Rock)
(could always leave subrosa early to catch more of touche amore...)
*7:05 - 7:45 NOISEM (Handy Park) // 7:05 - 7:55 MUNICIPAL WASTE
**8:00 - 9:00 PALLBEARER (Club 152)
*9:05 - 9:45 ROYAL THUNDER (coyote ugly) // 9:05 - 10:00 MELVINS (new daisy)
(could always leave pallbearer early to catch more of royal thunder or melvins)
stay for Testament?

So, on one hand I got my wish that none of the bands I'd really like to see would be playing at the same time (well, except for like 10 minutes of touche amore); on the other hand, my brother was planning to go with me mainly to see subrosa and pallbearer and he can't legally get into any of those bands :(

Definitely check out Call of the Void. The early bands that I would see (Rotting Out, Vektor, Code Orange Kids, Arsis) all overlap which kind of blows...
