I know I'm gonna get hate for this but I'll be at this tour like a fly on shit. I'm dying to see Asking Alexandria again and more Whitechapel is always welcome.

Motionless In White are decent live too but just not a huge fan of their studio work.

I'd probably go, MIW kinda remind me of a deathcore Bleeding Through and it's been awhile since I've seen Chimaira

No idea, all I knew is I heard of them lie 7 or 8 years back and their singer was in Bury Your Dead for less than a year(and the guitarist was in Bleeding Through and then Bring Me The Horizon)

Absolutely. Of course you would probably be disappointed if you ever went to a Sonisphere that MA was playing. After Metallica, Slipknot, Maiden, Rammstein or whoever headlined they would probably have to get security to drag you out while you are resisting yelling for David Vincent and Trey Azagthoth to come on stage!!!

And the line up order is off.

I love Chimaira, but having seen them 7 times I think I can easily pass on this. Though knowing me i'll get suckered in if there's a Toronto date. Hopefully that means Phil Bozeman joins them on stage for "Born in Blood"

Wow, the early noughties metalcore scene is seriously drowning. I'm really glad God Forbid just accepted they weren't making money without doing any crappy tours.

Man that's depressing. Remember when Chimaira were doing tours with Slipknot and Disturbed? Sure, most people here don't like those bands either but at least they were playing fucking arenas with those guys.

Sometimes I wonder how Asking Alexandria got so popular...

Seriously, they blew the fuck up over the past two years. They could headline over any remotely metalcore band.

Chimaira is Iron Maiden compared to the rest of the lineup.

I feel bad that an established band like Chimaira has to open for stupid scene bands like Asking Alexandria and Motionless in White.

dcmetal108

Asking Alexandria sells out the same size venues that All Stars Tour and LOG sell out (like 6,000 people) and MIW / Whitechapel sell out venues here all the time.

AnthG

I'm not surprised that they're opening for a band like AA, since Chimaira even at their peak of popularity were not on AA's level. It just sucks that they're billed so low. Especially when you consider that Chimaira played before Whitechapel on a tour not too long ago, now they're playing before them. And before when they were billed this low on a tour of this size it was at least on big arena tours like Music As a Weapon.

Same here. Can't stand those guys. And one of the worst live shows I've ever seen.

I probably wouldn't have gone anyway, but I really wish the Masq would book more shows in Hell. That's like half the reason I'm even seeing Nile.

Just by the tickets at the Masquerade, and you don't have to pay ticket fees.

It was weirder when Dragonforce, All That Remains and Horse The Band all toured together than this tour. Or perhaps Godhead opening up for GWAR and Corrosion of Conformity opening up for Disturbed.

I went to the NOLA date for Chimaira on the 23rd. IKTPQ for some reason or another didn't even play, so Chimaira actually did open which was bull. The show started later than it was supposed to and instead of playing their slot and IKTPQ's they only got to play theirs. I seen the time slots before the show and they had only 45 minutes including set-up so that knocked it down to almost 30. I was in the 2nd row and not many people there even had a clue who Chimaira even was. When they finished I hit the merch table during Whitechapel's set and then left before Motionless in White even finished their set.

Here's Chimaira's set from the show, only 6 songs but they smashed them out including two songs off the album they're releasing in July. They opened with "The Flame" which was awesome, one of my favorites, and closed with "Pure Hatred" for sure, just the middle of the set is fuzzy to remember. "Year of the Snake" and "Severed" may be backwards but I know the songs are correct. LOL. :rocker: Mark sounded awesome and I really enjoyed Austin's drumming on the new songs, and I'm a huge fan of Andols'.

The Flame
Year of the Snake
I Despise *New*
Severed
All That's Left Is Blood *New*
Pure Hatred

And Sean Z gave me his water bottle. :rocker: Also to the guy that said Daathmaira, they really killed it. Glad I got to see Emil shred those songs. It was funny seeing Matt DeVries teaching Emil the rhythm parts on the Coming Alive DVD in Europe to fill in while Matt went with his wife to have their baby and now see him playing lead and killing Rob's parts. LOL.

The promoter for this tour here in Pittsburgh just sent this out:

"We're looking to add a local opener to this Friday's (5/3) Asking Alexandria, Motionless In White, Whitechapel, Chimaira, & I Killed The Prom Queen show at Club Zoo. Please only inquire if your band fits stylistically with these bands and if you can 100% confidently commit to preselling at least (40) tickets. Let us know. Thanks!"
