It's been way too long since Motorhead headlined in the states. I hope this happens.

Makes sense, seeing as they're playing in Mexico in mid May.

Think this was meant to happen in February and got put back.

Two and a half years I thought? The last one I remember was the Clutch tour in January 2011.

Kind of odd that a new album hasn't surfaced yet, usually Motörhead are pretty snappy with their records. Also apparently my phone automatically applies the umlaut in Motörhead for some reason. Awesome.

Being recorded as we speak. Might even be done. But it's probably why the tour got put back three months.

Coming up on 2 years now until the end of the last tour. The Motorhead/Clutch/Valient Thorr show I caught was March 1st, 2011 at the HOB in Boston. Great show. Loud as fuck.

I figure the upcoming one will go for a month, maybe 6 weeks at most.

Last I heard, the new album is due for a summer release. Pretty much right on schedule. Every 2-3 years, a new Motorhead album appears. In fact, the longest break they've ever taken between albums is about 3 and a half years, between Rock N Roll & 1916. I can't think of a band that's been around as long or longer than Motorhead & is as consistent with new material.

I'm sure it was the venue's fault.

I'm sorry the 21+ venue didn't let you in, they wouldn't let me go either being 18 ;)

I've never had this problem. There are several good reasons for that though. a) I didn't go to my first gig until I was 18; b) I've never been asked for ID for anything, ever - I must therefore look old; c) we don't have 21+ concert venues ;)

Luckily, I never had that problem. Being 6ft 4in since I was 16 has helped a lot with that. :D

I have to blame somebody. ;)

Also, My friend went and told be they didn't even card him which pissed me off even more because I called them and asked if there was any possible way that I could get in. i.e. Bring a parent or something like that.

Nothing on my end yet, unfortunately.

I've heard a rumor of the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in mid-May, but no confirmation yet.

Motörhead doing the casino circuit? What's this world coming to?

Funny thing is, the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom has nothing to do with a casino. It's a giant rectangle of a room overlooking Hampton Beach & it's above a bunch of arcades and shops. It might have been a casino during yesteryear, considering the place is over 100 years old, but no casino remotely in the area now to my knowledge.

Motorhead fanboy fact: The last time Motorhead played at the HBCB was in 1995. They were co-headlining with a little band that Tony Martin fronted at the time called Black Sabbath. Tiamat was the opening act.

Motorhead at the Casino should be awesome. Hampton already has lots of bikers hanging around, so Motorhead playing there should bring out quite an interesting crowd. Not sure if I will go, but I've never seen them headline and my friend who loves Motorhead is in love with Hampton, so maybe.

Last 2 times they've been in the area headlining were both at the HOB (9/6/09 & 3/1/11), so I hope they expand and go to Hampton. Relatively the same capacity as the HOB, maybe a couple hundred less, and the beer is half the price of any venue in Boston :D

Great point, HOB is so expensive, it is almost painful for me to go to shows there. I'll take this place or even the Palladium over HOB any day (although my interest in going to the Palladium continues to fade).

Sorry for the double post. Someone on the Motorhead official forum said they called the venue and they told them that the band cancelled. So it looks like the tour might be scrapped then. Maybe recording is taking more time then expected? Hopefully they come back for a tour in the Fall or something.

I was surprised there was even a tour in the works. Usually Motorhead only headlines in the States after a new album. Last update was that the new album would be out in the summer. So, fall would definitely make more sense.

Only a couple of days before their festival appearance in Mexico. I winder if they are gonna do a full run after all or just a handful of dates. Times running out for them to announce a full tour.
