So that breakup lasted a year?

So long.

They broke up in 2009.

Never liked these guys even though I've had a renaissance in liking pop punk again these past few years. I'm sure if I went back and listened to their first few releases that I'd like FOB.

However, the new song they released sucks. They aren't pop-punk anymore.

If the tickets are a good price and the opener is good, I might think about going to see them here.

It was more one of those vague hiatus situations that bands go into after they have been working relentlessly for a while

The cheapest ticket I've found for the show tonight in Chicago is around $400 and when they are put up someone buys them almost right away.

Same here, then again, I couldn't care less about them.

Weren't they headlining amphitheaters before the went on hiatus?

No, I think they did arena tours along with Paramore though.

I know they are doing a bigger club tour (5,000-7,000) person in that area and it's going to sell out insanely fast.

No I don't think so. Before their hiatus, they opened for Blink 182 at some amphitheaters and indoor arenas though.

i.e. "We haven't made shit for $ on anything we've done since 2009 so we gotta make some of that $ back".

THIS. That being said I actually like Fall Out Boy, they are one of my guilty pleasures. But if the rest of the new album is anything like the lead single released today, Save Rock And Roll is a dumb misrepresenting title. With a title like that, I thought it would be a back-to-roots Take This To Your Grave/From Under The Cork Tree sounding album.

People are still going apeshit about how the tickets for the comeback show tonight crashed ticketweb's page and sold out in like 20 seconds.

Absolutely hated these guys in high school.

Elementary school for me (around 2004 or so - whenever Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" came out). I hated both of them, but grew to like the latter eventually.

bwahahaha. HOPEFULLY they bring good openers. I wouldn't mind this being the Honda Civic tour this year.

I dig the first few records, but hardly a band I care to pay for live unless it's at a festival. The new song sucks and the album title is pretentious as hell.

I heard the openers may be Panic At The Disco but no openers were announced yet.
