This makes me feel old & out dated. I know possibly like 5 names on that list.

I'm sort of underwhelmed by the headliners. Are Blur and Phoenix really that big?

Blur has one song that people know, and the average person doesn't even know the lyrics to that song besides WOO HOO!

Blur IS that big. Phoenix maybe not.

There's less than ten bands on this lineup I would pay to see individually so I'm not at risk of shelling out the money to fly out. Shame because last year's was one of the all-time great festival lineups.

Blur is pretty huge, but Phoenix is questionable IMO.

I always thought Blur took a backseat to Gorillaz.

Maybe on TRL in 2001 when you were bumpin' Clint Eastwood on the school bus, but not in real, actual life.

"I'm feelin happy, I got sunshine!!!!"

I resemble that school bus statement as well!!!

Gorillaz were bigger than Blur the way Hybrid Theory is bigger than In Utero.

Yeah I'm not saying which one is more critically acclaimed. But Blur, to me, was always more connected with more hardcore music fans, but Gorillaz also have the popularity and the critical acclaim ever since Plastic Beach.

Plastic Beach didn't even have a radio hit and Gorillaz headlined Coachella and a million other huge music fests that year.

oh yeah? Gorillaz played a million huge festivals in a year? impressive.

DethMaiden

Yeah, that's fair. Gorillaz are alright, I just don't see them being a big destination band people come thousands of miles to see whereas I think Blur, especially with the very long breakup and difficulty of seeing them outside the UK, is a smart move on the festival's part.

mankvill

Yeah, for sure. Blur will make a killing when they release a new record.

The worst part about this is The Postal Service coming back. All my friends are so stoked about it, too. Like, could you pick a shittier band to be nostalgic over?

No.

Seems like they are moving away from having the superbig headliners as they don't need them to sell tickets as the experience alone can do it and they don't want tens of thousands of people only there to see one band cluttering up the polo fields.

Makes sense, college kids go nuts already just so they can say "ZOMG AM GOIN TO COACHELLA GONNA TRIP SO HARD"
