As much as I hate pop,I have to admit their is one or two pop records that I have a guilty pleasure for,and I know all you guys do to! I have to say Demi Lovato's first record "Don't Forget" had some good songs on it,and she definitely was more on the rock side "pop rock",because the guitars on the record are way above average than most of the other pop artists out their. This album even has a few glam rock inspired tracks, like the title track for example. This album also not only draws from pop rock, but power pop as well.Another one I must admit to is Miley Cyrus's "Time Of Our Lives" EP.So there you go,I told you mine,I feel ashamed to admit it,but there it is.

Is pop the reason you don't put spaces where you should when you type?

New millennium pop record?

Anything by Adele. At least she has the ability to sing.

I'm sorry dude, when spell check doesn't say it's wrong, I will most of the time not notice it, nothing that you or anybody says will changed that, it's a habit I have developed.

THIS IS MY THREAD, WAIT TIL I GET HOME!

edit: okay, I'm home!

First things first: K-pop > you. More specifically, Girls Generation > You. That's all.

As far as American pop here, I only know things on a song-by-song basis, not albums. But there has been an explosion of better-than-normal pop music in recent years. I kinda feel that more and more pop stars are embracing the Electro sound and becoming more eclectic instead of churning out by-the-books bubblegum pop or vocal-based pop music with boring instrumentals.

I'd have to agree with everyone that Lady Gaga is basically the best pop star of the 2000's so far. I'm also not hating the resurgence of boy bands and teen idols. If Jay Biebs can write more songs like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf9OgcXV5cE), then he'd be unstoppable.

A few of my faves, off the top of my head:

La Roux - Bulletproof (This is probably the song that made me fall in love with pop music) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQdC7h609k8)
Selena Gomez - Love You Like A Love Song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgT_us6AsDg)
Beyonce - Single Ladies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m1EFMoRFvY)
Lady Gaga - Paparazzi (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nIvBI2_hSY)
Justin Timberlake - Cry Me A River (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DksSPZTZES0)
Kanye West - Stronger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PsO6ZnUZI0g)
Rihanna - Umbrella (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvBfHwUxHIk)
Gnarls Barkley - Crazy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bd2B6SjMh_w)

and don't be ashamed bro, here's my favorite Miley song (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M11SvDtPBhA)

etc. :3

but here's the best pop song ever written (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=wq7ftOZBy0E#t=30s)

I recommend changing it if you ever want a decent job ;)

Yeah pretty much. Hell I'll be amazed if they let you graduate high school if you refuse to put spaces after commas.

It's a really bad habit that you should work on correcting as soon as possible. Not just on some message board, someday you'll be sending an e-mail to a boss or a client and if they read something with the poor grammar I've seen it will cost you. You're young, you can correct it. If you leave it until you're older you'll be doomed.

I don't have any full pop records that I really enjoy but I like the first half of Justin Timberlakes Futuresex/Lovesounds. Especially the I Think She Knows Interlude and What Comes Around Goes Around.

Not a real fan of k-pop and electronic and such, but I guess it is better than how it use to be.I do like Selena Gomez actually, not just for the fact she's incredibly hot to lol :D

I like a select few of Taylor's songs, while the only song I like by Katy Perry is "Hummingbird Heartbeat",it sounds a lot like 80's glam, boy I wish more pop artists could do stuff like this!

Both Katy Perry albums are solid.

T-Swizzle is pretty solid overall, and I know it's hipster of me to admit but everything after Last Friday Night by Katy Perry has been pretty MEH. "Fireworks" was terrible too.

Yeah the new Katy Perry stuff is decent but almost sounds too made for radio unlike her first album.

I mean "I Kissed A Girl" is still a kickass song.

I refuse to fine Selena Gomez even attractive as I am 100% sure she was created in a lab as a method to sell Justin Beiber songs to straight males.

As for pop...the only pop I ever really liked was Ace of Base.

I have no shame saying I dig some stuff from Gwen Stefani. Her first solo album was dope.

But only song im a bit embarrassed to say I like is P!nk's "So What". And a few Black Eyed Pea's songs

I totally dig me some Ke$ha...there's nothing inherently good about her music and she's not extremely talented or anything, but most of her shit is just catchy. She's probably the closest I've gotten to listening to a full album by a pop star.

Also, I dug a bunch of the songs in Manks' 2012 in pop thread. :D

I don't know a whole lot of pop music, but as far as "new millenium" I would go with Alizée... I like all of her records, the first is probably the most thoroughly good one but her later records all have some good songs on them.

My all-time favorite, on the other hand:

In addition to my previous post:

- I quite enjoy Adele's 21.
- I don't have any of Ke$ha's albums, but I do enjoy her hits. They're just catchy and fun.
- Anyone here who knows me knows I hate rap. But I actually do enjoy the couple FloRida songs that are popular right now.
- I could get banned for saying this... overall I cannot stand Nicki Minaj, but I can rap "Superbass" and "Starships" word for word...
- Carly Rae Jepsen's voice gives me a boner.

I know nothing about pop on an album basis except for Katy Perry, who I love. But Ke$sha is super catchy and Carly Rae Jepson has a really good voice. And she's super hot
