The reason I started a new thread is because SoB are rumored to NOT be the opening band. I also think this tour adds to the rumor that Deftones are on a major US summer tour. They skipped over alot of bigger cities.

Stroudsburg again. I love this. 10 minutes away and starting to get bigger shows now.

Which is exactly where Mayhem will likely skip. I know they are not doing shows in Portland, Cinci & I heard it was likely skipping St. Louis & Atlanta, due to cutting back on dates & focusing on weekend shows. I figure Deftones will hit up the other cities as off dates on Mayhem Fest.

I think you're right actually. The only reason Boston and New York on this tour is because of the make-up dates for Hurricane Sandy on the last tour.

Periphery will be the opening band.

Also look for Deftones to tour the US in April/early May leading up to a coheadline spot on Carolina Rebellion on May 4th or 5th. Not sure if Periphery will be on that run of dates or not.

While Scars on Broadway opened for them during their fall tour. Seems totally fair...I'm not bitter at all.

:barf:

Dillinger has been the best opener Deftones have had for headlining runs in the past few years.

Don't care about Periphery though.

Hmm, I was gonna say Periphery but yea since it's before festivals that is a thinker. Basically as long as its not Scars on Broadway again like it was during the end of last year it probably can't be that bad.

I hope it's Periphery because:

a) I want to see them again
b) It's better than Scars
c) better than a local (lol)
d) They're doing the rest of the Spring tour, even though that's a month before. Periphery's now opening for DTP & Meshuggah in the UK on 5/3, but as far as I know there's nothing before that

No matter who the opener is I'm going, but still.

If they are doin the UK on 5/3 there's probably no shot of them doin this then if its so close together. That worries me then, Deftones seem to be really hot and really cold who they take as support bands. The times I've seen them they had Baroness, last time was when they brought Dillinger but I've read other tours where they brought crap. I'm almost figuring it'll be somebody that's on Carolina Rebellion or other festivals like that.

Already looked at Carollina Rebellion. All shit except for the bands that are bigger than Deftones & Steel Panther.

I know Periphery won't be on it, it would be nice.

Dear god, I looked thinking maybe I might find a little glimmer of hope in bands smaller than Deftones. I came up w/ Volbeat & Nonpoint. That is the best I could do. We are pretty screwed. I'm still gonna be there too but it will be a shit support band(s).

Some guy posted on the Contortionist's FB page that he's excited they're opening the Deftones show in Boston. Which in that case if true, they could be doing OKC, Springfield & StL too, because the last stop on the NEHMF tour is in Iowa.

That said, the first CD my parents let me buy (they stopped keeping track after the first one, they realized it was a lost cause and I ran out and bought Master of Puppets) was Razorblade Suitcase

I saw on the point's website that they are actually having a contest for a local band to open the show in St. Louis. They can submit videos for the public to vote on and out of the few bands with the most votes, the Deftones will hand pick a winner. Sucks we won't get a national opener, but thats pretty cool of them to give a local band some spotlight.
