Holy shit this would be killer!!!! I don't want to get too ahead of myself but I usually have good luck w/ Clutch playing in my area of the country. Orange Goblin would be great. Lionize was awesome 1 time and not awesome the other time. Sick of Kyng already but this would be killer!!!!

FUCK YEEEEEAAHHH

gonna hit the LA house of blues date for sure, and I'll do my damn best to make the Anaheim date too.

Edit: whelp, turns out spring break for me begins on the 22nd, so unless a Bay Area date gets added I'm only seeing the Hollywood show. I'd be amazed if they skipped the bay entirely though, they themselves have said that the only places where they can sell out two nights are NY, Chicago and SF.

Orange Goblin added this SXSW date on their announcement:

Fri 15 Mar - Tone Deaf Touring Showcase @ Red 7, Austin, TX (OG Only)

I'll be there.

Fuck Yeah :rocker:!!! I've been wanting to see a headlining Clutch show for awhile now. With Orange Goblin to support that just made my day. I've been listening to that band more and more ever since i checked them out about a year ago. Seeing them live will be killer. I'll be there in Sauget.

Clutch's popularity has taken a huge leap in the UK. Opening night of the 2013 tour is here, and was meant to be at an 800-capacity club. Sold out immediately, upgraded to a 1,400 capacity theatre (same one Fear Factory and Gojira played), now that's sold out. They've also sold out in Paris and Hamburg.

That's good to hear. As much as Clutch tours it always seemed like 95% of their touring was in North America. I always wondered why they didn't go overseas more. Glad to see they are getting big over there too.

best thing about clutch is they pretty much go to every market at least once each album cycle

seems like they generally take turns with chunks of the country at a time, regardless of where in the cycle they are, instead of the standard major markets first and then secondary

They came to Europe on the last cycle a couple of times, but the first time was festivals only, and the second was only a short run in certain countries, which didn't include the UK.

I saw them at the High Voltage Festival on the 2010 Summer run, then the Sweden Rock Festival in the 2011, then went to Denmark to see the headlining show.

They came here once to open for Motorhead a while back, and I think they've been here as a support band another time too. I'm not sure, but this might be their first ever headlining show in the UK...

Kyng out. Scorpion Child in. Never heard of them. Listened to a few songs on Youtube. Not bad, think I like them better than Kyng. Now I think I've got a reason for wanting to show up early now.

Good for them. Scorpion Child is an Austin band that will fit right in on this one. They recently signed to Nuclear Blast. Fans of The Sword / Graveyard and that style of throwback metal will dig these guys:

Yep that's one that I found to listen to and I agree, very good addition to this tour.

Rerally bummed that Kyng is not on this as I am a huge fan of them, but these guys are pretty damn badass, and they do fit in very well.

From Kyng's Facebook page:

Due to an unfortunate auto accident involving bass player Tony Castaneda, KYNG has to pull off their scheduled tour with Clutch, Orange Goblin and Lionize. The tour, scheduled to begin on Friday March 8th would've taken them coast to coast through April 20th will still move forward.

This unforeseen accident sets back the band's plans for recording their Sophomore follow up to Trampled Sun with with producer Jim Rota (Fireball Ministry, Sound City), and Andrew Alekel in LA this spring.

Though Castenada's injury puts the band's scheduled touring plans on hiatus, they will continue working on their new album with a planned release for summer 2013.

This sucks for Kyng, it's always a bummer when bands have to drop off tours. But Scorpion Child sounds like a good replacement, and this tour should be awesome (not that it is coming anywhere near me lol).
