House of Blues with Iced Earth and Hellyeah. Pretty sure it was June. Might've been earlier.

Volbeat puts on an okay show, but I kind of got my fix seeing them earlier this year with Megadeth and Motorhead so I think I'll pass.

Yeah because I think last time Volbeat headlined here it was at HOB and got pushed down to Bottomlounge.

Turns out that I am going to this show in Minneapolis to interview Danko Jones and the other opening band. (The MN show do not have All That Remains or Eye Empire)

As far as Volbeat, when their management asked me for another interview, I said I would do it if I got to interview Hank *and then the interview would only be King Diamond/Mercyful Fate questions* So I will say their management has been nice to me unlike the band. But when I found out that Rob Caggiano was in the band, I said I would want to do the interview with Rob *and then only ask Anthrax and production questions*

I'd appreciate if you could go ahead and also ask Danko to please not make music or tour anymore as well if you can find a way to sneak that in somehow.

I actually don't know them that well so i can't knock them until I hear more of them. I just know the song First Date and musically it is great (lyrically, no)

Had to see them open for Clutch 3-4 years ago. Worst opening band ever. My friends still make fun of them now. Maybe they're nice people but good god musically they are ok, lyrically they are just awful.

Maybe just tell them to not tour w/ anybody cool and then we won't cross paths

LOL. Tickets for this at the Shrine are $43 w/ fees. Who the fuck do these guys think they are? Lost track of how many great shows w/ bigger bands that weren't even $43. Good luck filling that place up.

Sounds like these guys have massively inflated egos. Not sure why, they are a second-tier modern rock/metal band that is just boring after awhile. I know the band doesn't set those prices, but I can tell these guys probably think they are major rockstars, which is ridiculous.

All I know for sure about Volbeat is they managed to get Death Angel to cancel a headliner in St. Louis, take a massive paycut, and instead open for them at Pop's the same night.

Also 1/2 of the Zombie turnout is generous, I'd give them 1/4

Volbeat probably act like major rockstars because in Europe they're pretty much the most popular rock band around right now. They headline 50,000-person shows over there. Here in the US they've been trying to gain a bigger following and they probably overestimate what they've done.

I know not many people checked out my interview with Volbeat back in June, but the two gems of the whole interview....

1.) Jon Larsen said they wanna bring Iron Maiden out on tour with them.
2.) My cameraman told Jon Larsen after the interview he really loved their Johnny cash cover, I've never seen anyone get so pissed.

4,000 according to Wikipedia.

I'm not familiar with the venue, but is it seated? If so, maybe they booked the venue for cheap and are doing a half house.

Could be worse, could be a lot worse.

My local station (97.7/107.3 WAAF) is stuck in 1998 and 98% of the time plays awful one hit wonders from the 90s (Marcy Playground, Butthole Surfers, Primitive Radio Gods, etc.) and the same 5 songs on a loop from Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Green Day & Stone Temple Pilots.
