My wife just got her ticket in the mail for the Vegas date and it's labeled, "An Evening with Bon Jovi"?

No openers this tour? The last few have had some pretty bad ones.

Can't see it being longer than the 3 hour sets they played here last time, and that was with an opener.

This. Have A Nice Day does rock live, but you'll never give a point well made any credibility by following it with a statement of outright stupidity.

I wonder how long Richie will hold out for more money. I know he is a founding key member, but he's nobody without Jon.

adamclark52
06-03-2013, 12:53 PM
Yeah, the Richie drama has been dragging out for a while now and they haven't even said what is really going on. Jon has only said he has some "personal issues" and Richie hasn't really said anything.

I'm willing to bet its money. At first i thought Richeie was on the sauce again but I'm nothing thinking that anymore. And I also have a feeling that Jon is a bit of a prick to work with. I've heard in interviews that the other members are actually employees of Jon Bon Jovi, so that's probably not a fun place sometimes for the other three.

I can see him leaving. A lot of people do go to see the whole package of a band but more go to see Jon Bon Jovi.

It's been said in several articles that it's disagreements over money.

I haven't been a fan of theirs for many years, actually decades. But if I was a fan I'd be pissed, not the same without Richie. Who knows if Jon is really being a stingy prick or if Richie just thinks he's getting ripped off. I just don't see Richie being a big success without Jon, that's obvious. Not saying he isn't talented, well you guys know what I mean.

He definately won't be playing venue anywhere near the size Bon Jovi will be. It's up to him wether he can accept that. Play huge venues to thousands of people but be unhappy or play smaller venues to people who want to see YOU? It's a decision that would be really hard for someone who's been on top for as long as Richie has to make.

Well, he had no problem selling out theatres here last year on his solo tour. And his solo albums have been better than the Bon Jovi albums released for the last 10+ years too.

So I guess Jon kicked Richie off the tour for good. He was reportedly getting 2 million a month, plus 20% of the tour profits. Seems like some pretty good pay to me. I know Jon makes much more money than that, but the band isn't called Sambora. Richie will still get royalties from music sales and a percentage of merchandising. They didn't say he was gone for good, who knows if he'll ever come back. The guitar player they have now makes 10k a month. Like I said before I am not a big fan anymore, just thought it was interesting. There's no way Richie can make anywhere close to that being solo, he should have just kissed Jon's ass and took all that cash.

Let me make sure I understand, he was getting 2 million month, plus 20% of the tour profits and he thinks he isn't getting payed enough? That's stupid, as much as I love Richie, I just think it's stupid if he is leaving because of that. Now, maybe there is a legit reason why he should leave and we just haven't discovered it yet..If he leaves though my previous comment still stands and they most likely won't be my favorite band anymore.

I don't want to start a new thread on this. But it seems after suffering the crushing loss of being denied buying the Buffalo Bills Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora have patched up their difference$ and are planning their first farewell tour for 2015. I'm not sure if there's going to be one last album but I'd hope not. This comes from my wife's Bon Jovi forum which is pretty legit.

I wonder if he's ever gonna play Buffalo again after the whole Bills fiasco. It may not be the smartest idea judging by people's reactions when Bon Jovi is played at a bar or restaurant around here. I'm sure the place would still be packed though.....
