I wish they would change up the whole D.N.R. / 3 Days in Darkness / Formation thing. There's a lot of other songs they could play, it seems like that's all they've ended their sets with for years.

Yeah, don't regret skipping this last week.

Yeah, they seem to be getting into a rut when it comes to what old songs they're playing. I'll still enjoy the show when I see them in feburary if this is the set though.

It's cool to see Alone In The Dark get played. I know they played all of The Legacy a couple years ago and that was great to see live, but it's kind of bothering me that Over The Wall is the only song that represents that album most of the time. It's a very good song but it's far from the best one. Burnt Offering's, Do Or Die, Alone In The Dark or Apacalyptic City would all be better choices.

What about giving The Preacher a rest and doing Erie Inhabitants or Trial By Fire for awhile instead? How about dropping 3 Days In Darkness and The Formation Of Damnation and playing Perilous Nation and Face In The Sky since those two haven't been done in forever. So Many Lies I think would be a nice addition to. Most of all though they are touring for an excellent new album, I would like to see them add one more song from it. A Day In The Death, Man Kills Mankind or Throne Of Thorns would be good.

I've been getting better at not over analyzing what a band does and doesn't play on here over the last year or so, because i've realized that complaining about what is and isn't played doesn't change anything. But Testament's unchanging setlist over the last few tours is really starting to baffle me quite a bit:confused:

Low & Demonic need representation.

They usually play Electric Crown, so Ritual's already there.

I love Testament, and they definitely bring it live, but I agree about changing up the set, and I feel like they could even add at least two or three more songs. With a catalog such as theirs, it wouldn't hurt at all to lengthen the set a bit.

Testament played Trial by Fire at a show in Sweden in August. Plus they switched out Alone in the Dark for Souls of Black in St. Petersburg last night.

Alone in the Dark? Nice. Hopefully they leave that in for the US. Other then that, yeah, it is a predictable set. I want to hear The Legacy!

This.Indeed. So Many Lies and Face in the Sky were mentioned earlier, and they'd be equally awesome. And Eyes of Wrath. And Demonic Refusal. And A Day of Reckoning. And The Evil Has Landed. And The Haunting. And The Burning Times. And...

Did you miss the show two years ago when Megadeth did all of RIP, Testament played The Legacy and Exodus opened at the Palladium??

I believe he may be talking about the song The Legacy off Souls Of Black.

I remember reading that thread. It was not exactly a good experience for him.

Yup, I meant the song. Seeing the full album would be nice though, since I missed my opportunity last time.

^^^^ This is why I missed them playing the full album

I did not know about that song. I only listened to the first two albums, so anything after The New Order is unknown to me. Now the he mentioned it, I do remember something bad happening that night but I don't remember exactly what it was. I'll look into that thread now.

Edit: Damn, I just read about your head. That sucks.

how about Reign of Terror...

Great song, but it NEEDS Zetro. Billy for some reason doesn't do it justice, IMO.

I completely agree with the person that said Low and Demonic need representation. It's nice that they play a lot of old school stuff but those were the ones that came out when I was in high school and my two favorites. We need some Hail Mary or Burning Times up in here! :flame:

The problem with representing those albums is that they came out when their fanbase in North America was probably at it's lowest. Both those albums came out and that was it, no hype, no nothing. The Burning Times would be cool but the bulk of their fanbase got into them because of those first five albums mainly. So that's why the focus is on the older material. The same goes for a lot of bands, not just Testament.
